Thank you for the vote of confidence. Yeah, I'll give it my best shot. I'm sure Jorgo will be there going frame for frame with me, as well. :thumbsu:

I'll think about it... ;)

Hopefully a few new onlookers get a taste for supporting the reserves and stick around next year during the home and away season.

The general week to week support for the reserves is a bit embarrassing.
Get reserves (home) games to be curtain raisers to Lions home games at the 'Gabba. Problem solved!

I miss those curtain raisers :(

Not buying it Everton. The support at those curtain raisers was a fraction better but still well within the piss weak category.

And a few hundred people (if that) in a 40, 000 seat stadium was one of the least exciting footballing experiences I've ever been a part of.

Wish we could get the support out to the local games that the sides we're playing have. It can be a little embarrassing to have a Lions reserves home game that has more support for the opposition.

I became a member in the same year they stopped having curtain raisers. If we still had them I'd come to games early.

Yeah but unfortunately you are part of a very small minority. That's my point.

We used to do the same when the ressies were on before the seniors at the Gabba - used to try to watch at least the last half of the Reserves to see how the young ones were travelling. Only reaon we don't go to more reserves games now is the time factor (or lack of).

When the Lions played at Carrara (or whatever it's called these days) this year, we went early to see the Ressies, and it was decidedly weird to sit in a hugh, near-empty stadium.

I'd love it if the Reserves games again became a prelude to the Seniors at The Gabba.

I think the best hope we have for a really good reserves venue and home ground feel is the new training and admin centre. It was a part of planning (at one stage, at least) for the ground to have good facilities for supporters and to become the home ground for the ressies, but obviously that will depend on what location is eventually chosen. If it's something like QEII, I'd say we're in with a very good chance of that coming to fruition.

Being in Victoria, I find it diffucult to support the reserves. I read the post-match summaries and everything, but I can't watch them. Is there anywhere online I can watch them?

I used to try and get to the old curtain raisers...however my ex wasn't having it.

Nice to get to a few this year though!

Bringing Mumsie along today, hopefully Ace will get re-signed so she can sponsor him next year (he's one of her favourites).
