So does this mean the fencing around the horse paddocks in North Adelaide will be coming down? Alternatively, will they bring down the fencing around the once private Ann Moran tennis court? If there is one thing holding Adelaide back, it is the ACC…That Henry Davis guy seems to have his head screwed on straight.
I'm all for protecting the parkland, but far out this seems to be getting a bit silly.
Not just us getting the run around from councils, and particularly the Adelaide City Council
What a joke of a decision. The club wanted no more than what other organisations had.
Add this to the reluctance to allow the upgrading of infrastructure of the netball facilities in the South/Western corner of the Parklands - which gets used pretty much every day by 1'000s of kids and adults.
The State Government needs to step in and take responsibility for Parklands away from the Adelaide City Council. Mali doesn't need the seat of Adelaide to win the next election. Now is the time to piss them off.
The horse agistment in North Adelaide is the most elite and non communal use of Park Lands. So does this mean the fencing around the horse paddocks in North Adelaide will be coming down? The horse agistment in North Adelaide is the most elite and non communal use of Park Lands.
20 horses maximum and can only use it if live within 2km.
A very large area used by very few.

Really the whole city (as in broader metro) only needs 4 or so councilsYep time for the Parklands to be stripped from the ACC, better yet dissolve the ACC permanently.
Everything from the parklands in should be the responsibility of the state government. The city of Adelaide is not a suburb and should not be under the same rules as Salisbury Heights and Londale.Really the whole city (as in broader metro) only needs 4 or so councils
Merge it with Unley/Burnside/prospect.

This. Our HQ at the aquatic centre. Netball courts. Vic Park and permanent grand stand. Imagine if we had all those in place.
I wasn’t aware but not sure what difference that makes. You are aware if you own property or a business in a different council that you live in, you are entitled to vote in that council election provided you register.
So, if you lived say in West Lakes but had a business in the city, you are entitled to vote in both the City of Charles Sturt (West Lakes) and the City of Adelaide.
I wasn’t aware but not sure what difference that makes.
Why.. kinda makes some sense that if you're paying rates and taxes that you should be eligible to have a say (vote) in a specific council areaWell you shouldn’t be allowed to vote more than once.
Now if Adelaide was like Brisbane, you can vote once and that is it.

My point being the argument is that Park Lands is for everyone any time a development is suggested.there's that much open space around there it's ridiculous. It's stupidity to moan about it. Once it becomes an opportunity cost, you can start moaning about it. Till then, it's just another massive amount of under-utilised space that nobody coukd do anything different with anyway.
You can't vote more than once in the same council.Well you shouldn’t be allowed to vote more than once.

It happened before I arrived in Brisbane but I'm told that's exactly what happened, Amalgamated all the little councils into big councils. It would be similar to say Salisbury,TTG & Elizabeth in the North, Campbeltown, Burnside parts of the hills and TTG in the east, say Unley, Mitchum & parts of Onkapringa in the south, Charles Stuart, West Torrens , Holdfast bay & port Adelaide part in the west, And Adelaide central controlled by state government or part of one of the othersYou can't vote more than once in the same council.
Makes sense to be able to vote if you own property across different councils.
Do agree with the idea of council amalgamation.

Yet that horse agistment is a very large piece of land that can only be used so very few.
And it is an eyesore.

Everyone should be able to vote in the Adelaide city council elections as it’s the capital city and CBD. It should be planned and developed with the interests of the state a priority over and above the residents who live there.

Why? It’s not my garbage. And I’d be happy to take control of inner city streets away from the council too.And given that its everyone's land, everyone should pay rates to fund the garbage collection and road maintenance

Don’t be stupid. Adelaide belongs to the ratepayers, not the great unwashed of the state at large. And thankfully so.
no, that's just dumb. No.
