That can't be real as it would have shuddered and get stuck halfway down.

Listening to Rooch is like listening to a slimy piece of slime covered in slime.

I think either Brompton or Thebarton will be excellent. It's just that Brompton they could start building tomorrow, whereas Thebarton you're probably looking at being ready for season 2031 and therefore stay in West Lakes until then. Without the Torrensville Community Centre, Bowling Club and the Kings Reserve landscaping gone for the road build, it is a very attractive blank canvas on offer there to build a specialist, modern football facility that could cater for all levels of football. They could fit 3 Adelaide Oval sized ovals there and still plenty of space. It's just waiting 10 years. Would be horrible to go to Thebarton soon and live another 7 or 8 years in a construction zone like West Lakes has been for the last 7 or 8 years. At least West Lakes is almost finished now.

If the Crows get Brompton, it will still be interesting to see how Thebarton Oval develops. The roadworks almost make a good excuse to rip the oval up and start again (keeping those heritage grandstands of course). An 8,000 seat stadium made to look really good for TV could be the way forward to broadcast AFLW, SANFL and Community Football.

Hopefully Football, via the Crows, gets hold of the Brompton facility and Thebarton Oval and surrounds are also used as top class facilities for our sport moving forward.

For those interested, Tim Silvers had some very interesting things to say about our new venue in our interview with him today. Focus on providing a facility to attract and retain players. Dedicated space for fans to come and enjoy and mix. Interview in our podcast tonight (link in our thread).

We even got him talking about the logo

For me I am 100% all in on Brompton.

I'm just not sold on Thebarton and never have been, it's about to located next to an expressway and we'd be putting ourselves back in a position where we're tenants and playing second fiddle to the SANFL.

I would rather us being in complete control over our facilities and our destiny. After going there and seeing what they've done with Plant 4 and the development of that site I think we'd fit in there perfectly and there is a massive amount of public space etc for events and a huge amount of potential.

I will be gutted if we end up being stuck at Thebarton because it will more than likely come with a raft of compromises.

This is most probably the one and only opportunity to get it right so hopefully things fall our way.

It depends how much Renewal SA value what we can provide the community compared to the extra $$ the developers will offer.

I don’t know anything about Renewal SA, are they supposed to be independent of government influence or can the government get involved, if it’s the latter, surely for the benefit of the community, local and wider Crows community they lean our way.

It’s going to be an entertainment centre and attract artists that bypass Adelaide
It seriously won't, artists are already use to skipping us. The Big Artists on Stadium tours will use Adelaide Oval.

I'm also all for Brompton for the new facility, the sooner the better, how embarrassing to have our new draftees walk through a construction site to get to the oval. What kinda first impression would that have had I wonder?

So the promoters who are supporting the proposal are just giving the government bad advice for fun?

You can't get dates at Adelaide Oval. They don't have enough availability.

Plus - that's a BIG act. I'm not sure it's those that Adelaide is missing?
