I don’t get people complaining about noise. I live 40 metres from a football club. They train 4 days a week, they have light towers, they have matches every second week, they host the GF with crowds of 10k, they allow cars in the ground and in 17 years I have heard **** all.

No wait, if I am in the front yard I might hear a cheer or a car horn but I’d be outside. I k ow I’d easily sleep through a days football
Yep, I used to live across the road from Norwood Oval, would only ever hear anything if my window was open for fresh air, and there was a southerly helping the noise carry.

i used to live down the road from the Bay oval, it was the same, would only hear if the windows or door was open

Interestingly, the lack of trees in general everywhere in this photograph.

If you look at Adelaide now from Windy Point or Mt Lofty, you notice the higher level of green coverage across the plains.

I imagine most of the native vegetation was cut down and used for firewood, fencing, building etc in the early days of the colony
