I agree with Schorchy that 'Power' is a pretty nothing aspect of our brand as a footy club. I don't love it or hate it, I'm just totally ambivalent towards it. I doubt many would miss it if we rebranded to simply 'Port Adelaide'.

Yes, but it's also very sports day. Red team clap clap clap. I realise the AFL isn't round ball football but our fans sound better than any other supporter group and the slow Power chant is a part of that. A big thank you to our cheersquads/interstate cheersquads who blast it during our away matches.

It's funny you say that about the ChiSox though, as no club has rebranded more (seemingly) in their history!
They have always had to be that way as they are up against solid brands in the Cubs and Bears.

They are very much the Port to the Cubs 'Crows', even down to the supposed demographics.

Is there a timeline for when this new logo will be released/launched? ....

There are two press conferences scheduled at Alberton on the 4 March 2020. One in the morning to launch the new logo and one in the afternoon to announce Hinkley's three year contract extension.

I remember the '95 GF and in the final quarter, after enduring the insipid Centrals slow drawn out chant for half the match, the Magpies chant started in the same slow drawn out manner and I am sure it was to piss the Centrals supporters to the hilt. It was the only time I accepted a Port crowd chanting in that style, it was pleasing. However somehow in the AFL we changed from the quick Power chant into this slow drawn out chant in which I've never liked.
