Re: Hardwick now Dons' frontrunner

How much did we spend on the consulting firm to get this far (Hardwick as favourite) ? Could have just asked us bigfooty bombers and given us our due share.

so ant you belive that judd would have been informed about our coach for 08?

I would have thought so, or at least they would have given Judd a fair idea as to who the coach may be.

Re: Hardwick now Dons' frontrunner

Not happy one bit to be honest. Not only did McKenna not get the job (as IMO he is the best one out there), but Sumich is by far and away the next best.

But what do you base that on?

I also wanted McKenna in the beginning but tbh as long as Neal didn't get it, i am happy to back the boards decision.

Even if Neal did get it, i would have jumped on board, but with serious doubts.

Thankfully i don't have to worry about that now.

Re: Hardwick now Dons' frontrunner

I agree. There is probably a thread somewhere on this rabble of a group but i'll post here anyway. What makes them think they can waste the club's resources and create an unnecessary distraction? Because they disagree we the club's decision to sack the coach/and or think it was handled badly. It may have not have been handled all that well but is there an easy way to sack a coaching legend? The group are an embarrasment

I also think the club's constitution/rules are flawed if an extraordinary general meeting can be called on the back of 100 signatures. We have over 30,000 members, its no suprise that 1 in 90 members are silly enough to sign the petition. Surely the prospect (albeit extremely remote) of a board spill should have more foundation than 100 silly supporters?

I'm going to vote against them, but I love what they're doing and stand for. This is a member's club. Sure it will all cost a bit of money, and a bit of a fuss is put up. Ten times better than the Premier League or North Melbourne where a bunch of rich dudes own the club you barrack for. Here, if you're willing to support the club financially, its your club.

What this group represents (even if they're actual motions are crap) is democracy at its finest.

Re: Hardwick now Dons' frontrunner

I wonder if we mentioned to Juddy that Hardwick will be our new coach?

Judd meets with us on Sunday, two days later it's all but confirmed who our coach will be...

And lets just say Juddy's manager would be one of the last blokes the Colonel would give his recipe to.

It also could have been Judd, the story did originate from channel 10 perth. Brownlow night drinking with his former teammates....

Re: Hardwick now Dons' frontrunner

You'd think the leak would push this forward.

Possible I guess...

But would they announce it on the eve of the GF. I'm not so sure.
Maybe they will opt to announce it at the B&F.

And it's Colonel btw.

Didn't think it looked right.

Been a while since I stumbled into one last Oaks Day.

Re: Hardwick now Dons' frontrunner

If a betting market was up, I'd have my money on the day after.

I guess it will depend on how much media pressure comes from all of this.
