I know zilch about this IG company, but are they big enough brand to get away with just having a 'IG' logo?

The missus saw it and said is that Instagram?

Usually when people have concerns like this it’s them inventing some hypothetical that is never gonna happen, but this one is very legit. I’ve had the same thing happen with a friend of mine going “what, Instagram?” regarding it. That acronym is so synonymous with the platform that it’s inevitable and if I wanna find out what they do I’m only gonna get Instagram to show up on google. They’re stuck in a corner and I don’t know how they can fix it.

I googled ig and the first thing that came up for me was the trading platform, which predates Insta by a large margin. Even so, they probably should rethink their brand strategy, because people DO think of instagram immediately

I do wonder if the clothing manufacturer will end up above the AFL logo like it is now in AFLW and that spoace will open up to sponsors.

Also back of the shorts must be being eyed off by a team.

I’ve always wondered whether Melbourne should be allowed to have the AFL logo and sponsors in another part of their guernsey, because the main design element of the Melbourne jumper gets partially covered up. This doesn’t occur with most other clubs except the ones with yokes.
The Melbourne guernsey was mint pre 1970’s, but I reckon most jumpers were better in the guernsey golden age from WWII to sponsors and logos. I’m not a fan of the ‘glean’ off the synthetic fabrics either.

All they have to do is pull the yoke down below the logos, it's far too high anyway.
