New Zealand v Sri Lanka

Why the rush? It's the openers' job to chase them down.
Just a bit more fun my way. Anyway both openers went pretty cheaply 2/46. Kashual got his 2nd test wicket but unless he performs a miracle it's looking like one of the debuts by a young spinner away from the subcontinent that should be written off. Christchurch was never going to be a spinners wicket.

Have Eranga and Kaushal been reported yet? Shouldn't take long with the Ox keeping an eye on things. Kaushal was fine until he started bowling that "doosra". Blatant throw.

Looking forward to getting another crack at them on a greentop at the Basin. Hagley Oval has become just a stunning ground for Test cricket, hope it becomes another permanent fixture of the Test summer along with the Basin Reserve. Can't wait to take in a few games there during the WC.

Anyone else surprised to say Eranga get dropped ahead of Prasad? Haven't had a chance to watch any this morning can someone tell me whether Herath will get much out

Williamson needs to go big here. Dumb shots from McCullum and Taylor.

and BJ &/or Jimmy Neesham needs to ably support him.

Interesting to note, Jimmy Neesham has 5 meaningul (50+) scores from his 13 innings. Not a bad start for the promising 24 year old. He averages 47 to by the way

Love to know the last time that Sri Lankan seamers took all 10 wickets in an innings was and also when a spinner only bowled 2 overs for them in an innings.
