There are no rivalries in AFL footy. Not anymore.

The way the game is governed, and the weird fan culture doesn't facilitate it.

Rivalries are formed through hatrrd, or through teams facing each other in Grand Finals for a prolonged period of time with success and failure shared between them.

The latter simply doesn't and can't happen in AFL footy anymore.

The former doesn't happen because fans get all stroppy and flood talkback radio telling player's to STFU every time they say something even remotely controversial about the opposition. Players and coaches are too sterile and won't say or do anything to upset the opposition. And even if they did - the AFL would fine them.

Aside from whacking someone, there's really nothing anyone can do to get the opposition to hate them.

Gws crows have had some good games of late …. Could be a rivalry brewing

You beat us both times last year pretty convincingly even though we dominated large parts of the games. Both were tough losses to swallow.

In the 2nd game in Adelaide they showed footage from Kingsley from half time in the first game saying "They're ****ing tired. We've got them fellas, go out there and smash them!!" And I said "You prick" lol.

Then you ran over the top of us in the 2nd match as well.

How does playing some good games against other equate to a rivalry??

It's all about bad blood.

Prolonged bad blood can and usually does lead to a rivalry.

Everything else that people try to talk up doesn't cut it.

Hateley didn't fire a shot for either team and was delisted. PSD was actually market value
