Disagree with this. Not much difference between the top of D2 and the bottom of D1 at the moment.

Got them comfortably in front of Hurstbridge and Whittlesea.
Wasnt that long ago teams would come up to Divvy 1 and win maybe 1 or 2 games (or none) and go straight back down.

I think clubs are better at recruiting to be more competitive when rising to Div 1 but im not sure the banyule side of 2022 wins 4 or 5 games in div 1 like Hurstbridge and Whittlesea did in 2022.

Especially as this is Banyule's first crack at divvy 1 and may not know what to recruit to get to such a standard

Happy to be proven wrong but my expectation is Banyule won't finish in the bottom 2

Tom Bell gone.

Boro in strife.

I would think they would know what to recruit considering their coaches helped guide Bundoora to their last flag.

At the moment they have only announced re-signings. No new players yet. You'd hope they have at least a few recruits coming, if not it looks like a 3 way battle for bottom spot. Although I do think Hurstbridge are in a world of trouble.

I know its only a small sample size but anyone else fear we will see the same clubs challenge and win flags due to the salary cap.

I know clubs in d1 100% cheating at the very least "bending" the rules.

If your club isn't willing to do that where does it leave you?

Happens in every single competition around Victoria. The same group of teams win each comp year in and year out. With the odd surprise.
Unfortunately it's never going to change and you can't stop teams paying under the table.

Yes of course it does. So what’s the point of the cap then besides punish clubs who are honest.

Make player points 35 and watch football competitions change for ever.

Clubs will have to develop their own.
