How can this fantastic league as at 2.45 not have updated their website to say who plays who and what day in div1 for first week of finals ...

Surely Simon Devines position has to be in massive danger? The DVFL didn’t have a great reputation. Now he’s turning the NFNL into a laughing stock, with clubs struggling and kids turning away from the comp!

Interesting you say that. I'm not involved in the NFNL but watch from afar, and I know a few people that work with the league that have said they actually think he's done a better job than those that have preceded him. Again, I'm not at the coal face perhaps some here that are involved on committees would know more. Just being devils advocate as I have heard positive things about him.

And no, this is not Simon Devine's mother.

If the people at the league are saying that about him then we are in a world of bother and they are completely dillusional. But in saying that, nothing would surprise me with them!

Well said Simon AKA BENNY HILL

Bit of a nightmare fixture this weekend for my bergs.
19s and 1s on Saturday, 2s playing Mont and then the women's Grand Final same time Sunday, one at Preston one at Epping.

I believe a question was asked if the 2s could be moved to the Saturday, swapping with WPL and Bundoora, but was rejected.

Also on the Sunday -
- Bundoora vs Mont in the 19s
- WPL and Monty play in the Seniors

That said, it wouldn't be just Heidelberg that would benefit from a swap, granted Bundoora, who finished 2nd in the 2s, could be felt a bit dudded however they now have to front up both days with trainers/supporters.
I think that's really poor management from the competition. Puts a lot of a strain on volunteers and the club.

Coming from the Berg I am aware I'll get zero sympathy on here, I'm not after it, just venting.

I mentioned in earlier posts that the NFNL is promoting its growth as a competition in regards to participation - this is mostly on the back of women's and junior girls footy. If they're wanting the womens comp to be taken seriously that scheduling is really poor. I'm a big believer that the clubs which integrate and grow their womens programs the strongest will prosper in the future (club culture and financial strength), that's the direction footy is heading, so the league need to get on board and enable this.

Looks like Vic Uni will probably take out all 3 womens flags anyway.... wonder how long they're remain in the Nfnl given their location and dominance.

In regards to changing of game day/time there is no way any club would accept this if it wasn't going to benefit them, and nor should they have to, so it's really on the league to get it right for future seasons.

Tips for the weekend?

Heidelberg to scrape over North
WPL over a resurgent Monty

Bundoora coach heading to Coburg Lions VFL. Watch this space Justin Sherman will be heading to the Bull Ring
Sherman might find himself at a TAC club I'm hearing.
With a new president soon to take over at Bundoora, I'm led to believe that Moorcroft is in the box seat to take the reigns.
