Bundoora have their new coach I’ve heard. Coached 2 currently D1 clubs (one soon to be D2)

Greensborough dominated today. If West Preston win tomorrow it will set up a great grand final as I think they will test the Boro more than Heidelberg will, even though of the ladder position.

Although I agree West Preston will be a better match for Greensborough and as bad as the dogs were on Saturday. I doubt they'll be forfeiting this weekend. West will still have to beat them.

Doing some looking around at the weekend and it was interesting to note a couple of things when it came to Greensborough team sheet and there player points values...

It is clear as mud they have bent the rules here and that this is now cheating. So how can Charlie Molyneux be a 4 point player last year and be a 2 this year I ask? He won a league medal in 2017 at his home club in Adelaide before moving?

He was listed as 4 point player in the final home and away game last year against West Preston but is a 2 point player at the weekend? He is a senior community player who won a league medal and a BNF, correct me if I am wrong but that adds additional 1 point for each?

Rules for some clubs and no others...

The real question is....

How can he kick four from the midfield and only get 3rd best!!!!

Did Billy Hogan get reported again?! Surely getting close to 16 weeks...

Also, both Harveys under an injury cloud?

WPL Boro granny looms!

A lot of clubs have players not playing for appropriate points:

TAC Players only 3 points in first year at club
Best and Fairests of new recruits not disclosed
Players points mysteriously dropping in a season by more than one

The system is automated when it comes to Tac Cup and Vfl as playing history is transparent on the system. It’s the inter league, competition bnf and club awards that has the points system shot.

My argument here is there is a complete failure in player, club and league picking up the error that he’s gone from a 4 to a 2. The rules and the NFNL system allow for errors to be identified and rectified, there is a level of honesty and if your caught not being honest, your cheating! It’s pretty straight forward, hence the ruling by AFLVic.

Like let’s get real here for a second, this is not just oversight, clubs are spending close to a quarter of a million dollars a year to compete in payments, generating close to a million dollars in turn over throughout the year and we have a obvious disregard for the rules, this is a business in terms of operations, so penalties apply if you don’t play by the rules. It has to be fair for all of it’s implemented and governed correctly.

You can not have some clubs receiving penalties, sanctions and playing within the rules whilst others bending rules and rorting the system.

In fairness to Greensborough they were under by several at the weekend, this isn’t the point, but where it’s acceptable for them and others like West Preston and North Heidelberg this week who will be pushing the points limit.

I’m sure they would love to have some of their players in question in regards to points playing on less but no, they play by the rules.

Another example if the league being so lazy and unprofessional !!! I know this isn’t a big thing but was at the div3 final on Saturday and league boss presented the medals in a pair of jeans !!!! Wouldn’t you think the head honcho would have some sense and at least try and look professional ? Again it’s not a big issue but just pointing out the lack of care by the league ... your point on points is very valid and could have been an issue if it was outside the rules. Good prelim coming up.

Could have been? It is outside the rules?

Would you accept if we had a player run the length of the field without bouncing ball or punching a player off the ball? No, So the why do we accept this if we know their blatantly cheating the system that all other clubs manage to follow the rules with?

Absolutely agree , but in saying that its the leagues responsibility to be all over this. Must be something that they have overlooked or dont want to know about it. Why? Because they dont care as long as they are making $$$$$$$$$

Clubs employ individuals as team managers and they declare that when they submit their team sheet everything is correct and they are owning responsibility that they are playing within the rules. Let’s not kid ourselves, the player himself knows exactly what he is and the club, so why does it take to now to identify it when their competition they’re playing against last weekend and this weekend is disadvantaged in not being able to play their best sides because of the rules and their opposition is getting away with it.

Multiple parties need to accept responsibility here not just the league. If we want to get fair dinkum, he should have been a 5 point player last year making him a 4 currently.
