Good question, I thought they looked better than Hurstbridge, all in all, it will be a close-run thing. Interesting to see how Macleod follow up their victory. I wonder if relegation will come down to percentage?
Yeh I can see it coming down to percentage. That's where massive losses hurt that much more. Hurtsbridge are a game and 20% better off already. Yes still plenty of games to go. But I think around 3-4 wins will get you related.

I believe North Heidelberg will win enough. Norrhcote, Hurtsbridge and Whittlesea will be very close.

2 big games in that relegation battle this week

Round 6 of NFNL footy and what a round it shapes to be.

Northcote Park (9th 1-4) vs Hurstbridge (7th 2-3). Big game down at Bill Lawry Oval with the cougars a big chance to move level on points with Hurstbridge. The cougars will go into the game confident and get Boscarini back into the team. Jepson and Tallariti were both in the coaches votes last week. For the Bridges some handy ins with Brazier and Jordan back into their front half. Cookson, Hymus and Loader were all in coaches votes last week. This game could be a real slog especially if weather stays as it is. Hurstbridge by 12 points

Greensborough (2nd 4-1) vs West Preston (5th 3-2). Greensborough got over a determined Northcote Park last week with Billy Bedford leading the way with 10 coaches votes. The Boro get back Bell (currently 4th in coaches award) and Brindley to strengthen their squad. One of the big questions is where are WPL at, going down to Macleod last week with only Tilley showing any good form, currently 5th in coaches award. The roosters are struggling to kick a winning scores only kicking 10 goals a game over their first 5 games. Boro with Bedford, Riddle and Johnston will keep them to another losing score. Greensborough by 24 points

Montmorency (4th 3-2) vs North Heidelberg (8th 1-4) Mont continued in their winning ways with Binion leading from the front last week. Honeychurch was also in the coaches votes and they get Wale-Buxton back this week as well. For the doggies another competitive outing but still no 4 points. Jesse Tardio has been leading the way and sits in 3rd spot in coaches award and needs a few mates to help him along. If results go against the doggies and both Northcote Park and Whittlesea do happen to win, then they would drop to last, one game behind the competition in the relegation battle. Monty too strong by 31 points.

Whittlesea (10th 1-4) vs Macleod (6th 2-3). The eagles after beating WPL have struggled the last 3 weeks but are back at the Showgrounds and will fancy there chances against Macleod. They get Duffy, Dyson and C Wild back into the team but still no Jarrod Waite. For Macleod they travel up plenty rd full of confidence after their bounce back win last week. With Lucas Hobbs leading the coaches award and in great form, the eagles will need to have plans in place to stop the ex eagle premiership player. Picking the eagles in a bit of an upset by 7 points.

Match of the day Bundoora (4-1 3rd) vs Heidelberg (1st 4-1) at Yulong will be a great contest. Both teams in great form with plenty of stars on both team. Bundoora do lose Jetta and Zaharakis but bring back young stars Thompson and Caddy. For the tigers Bellchambers is a big in and the battle between Shepheard, Howard, Jorgensen vs Gilmore and Bellchambers will go a long way in deciding the winner. The bulls coaching staff will also have to put some time into Matt Smith who is equal leader in coaches award. Going to be a great game but going with the home ground Bulls. Bundoora by 9 points.

Enjoy the footy and remember this round is Pat Cronin Foundation Round. Always be wise and let’s end the coward punch

Some big outs for Bundoora. Heidelberg for me, by a few goals

Wouldn’t surprise me if the Bergers get up.
Watched a bit of Bundoora last week and they were pretty good, Jetta was very good so will miss him
Jorgensen up forward was a great target.
Should be a great game

Great round of footy.
Huge wins to Northcote Park and Whittlesea to really open up relegation battle.

And now the Doggies find themselves last with only the one win

Great game at War memorial between Boro and West Preston, tight game with biggest margin being 8 points and both teams take away 2 points.

The tigers flex their muscles with a great away win at Yulong.

It’s great to have such an even competition.

Well relegation didn't become any clearer after both Northcote and Whittlesea winning. Pretty embarrassing by Macleod. How can a team kick 27 behinds? Have 13 more scoring shots and lose the game

Bundoora the most disappointing team of the round. Come up against 2 flag contenders and smacked by both.

Very good season so far in div 1, every Saturday arvo there are unpredictable results. Impossible to get a read on Macleod this season.

Round 6 and picked 2.5 missing on Hurstbridge and Bundoora.

Winner of the round: Hard to split Northcote Park and Whittlesea who both had great wins over Hursty and Macleod. Boyse with another 6 goals has given the cougars a big lift in the last few weeks.
For the Eagles it looks like a solid team effort, maybe they got lucky with Macleod kicking 8-27 but you make your own luck. Certainly gives relegation stakes a big shake up with only one win separating 6th to 10th.

Loser of the round: Bundoora failed their first big challenge since round 1. Two losses to WPL and Heidelberg by 37 & 36 points will give Coach Ryan and his team something to think about.

Roll on round 7

Apparently Covid has hit Bundoora. Not sure if it's effected many players. But they cancelled meals and shut the rooms tonight. Was always going to happen somewhere

We will have plenty of this in coming weeks. North had 21 players from their seniors team list unavailable last weekend with around 9 due to Covid or the bug flying around & throw in a few that played under duress.

Good initiative by Bundoora if that’s the case in an attempt to reduce more players/officials & members being exposed.

Round 7 of NFNL footy and as always some great games to look forward to

Northcote Park (8th 2-4) vs Bundoora (4th 4-2). The cougars go into this game with a great deal of confidence after winning 2 of their last 3 games. Boyse kicked another bag of 6 last week and will be a focus for the bulls. Does Shepheard get that job or does it go to ever green Dowell? The bulls can move back into the top 3 with a win and will do so. Bulls by 27 points.

Macleod (5th 2-4) vs Hurstbridge (6th 2-4) Both teams coming off disappointing losses but with a win here, and a loss by WPL they can move to 2 points outside the top 5. The kangaroos I am sure would have had plenty of goal kicking practice this week after their woeful 8-27 costing them the win last week over the eagles. They have lost Brandy, Martin and Paynter from last week which will hurt. The bridges would also be disappointed in losing to Northcote Park last week, they did kick 14 goals but lose Bailey Jordan this week. Toss of the coin, will pick the home team but not with any real confidence. Macleod by 9 points

West Preston (5th 3-2-1) vs Mont (4-2). A great game to look forward to at J.E Moore park. The roosters got some sort of form back last week with an away draw at Greensborough. It doesn’t get any east this week with Montmorency going across. They do get Aujla, Brown and McCabe back but still not Ahmed Saad. For Mont they needed a big 5 goal to 2 last quarter to get over Nth Heidelberg. Wake-Buxton continues to his great form picking up BOG and with Fitzgerald leading the goal kicking, going with Mont by 19 points.

Nth Heidelberg (10th 1-5) vs Whittlesea (9th 2-4). For the doggies it was another one that got away and with result going against them find themselves on the bottom of the ladder, one game behind tomorrows opponent. They do get Dillion and McGhie back and will look to Billy Hogan to continue his good form. For the Eagles, they go to Shelley Reserve with confidence after winning last weekend. They are strengthened with the return of Waite but do lose Falls who picked up coaches votes last week. Massive game in terms of relegation, and going with the Eagles to win 2 in a row. Whittlesea by 13 points.

Heidelberg (1st 5-1) vs Greensborough (2nd 4-1-1). Huge top of the ladder game at Warringal Park. The tigers welcome back Sier and his clash with Tom Bell is one all NFNL followers would look forward to. Bellchambers is a big out for the tigers but with Smith, Gilmore, Tardio and Minogue all in great form they should be able to cover for this loss. For the Boro, maybe one that got away last week with there draw to West Preston so they will be looking to get the 4 points here. Tough game but going with Heidelberg by 9 points.

Enjoy the footy!!

Relegation going to be a ding dong battle. Hurstbridge have wasted a great start of the year, probably look the worst of the lot at the moment

Certainly will be close, Nthcote Park been super competitive, Nth Heid a comfortable win today.
Great to not see so many big winning margins each week.

Are WPL missing many others other than Saad? Don't reckon there's a more important player to a team than he is in this comp, missing him greatly.
