I didn't say that did I. I purely focused on the fact that umpire abuse should be a strong punishment to stamp it out so leagues can retain umpires. Pretty simple really!
You seem really critical of this umpire but does he deserve to be sworn at or called a cheat?
But it's ok for the umpire to give as good as he gets? Without any punishment? The league is always going to take the word of the umpire arent they?

Is there any issue with pulling an umpire in and telling them to pull there heads in?

Given all games didn’t really happen, the card should not stand…..I mean, other games called ofvat half time means they had 50% less time …. Less time to be red carded…if Bundys game was called off at half time the card would. Not have happened…

Sure that's for the umpires boss after clubs give that exact feedback.
You clearly have no issue with players abusing umpires. Perhaps you should give it a shot yourself

Umpire abuse is simply not needed.

People consistently sook about umpires at the elite level and shocked they aren't satisfied with local level umpires. Learn some self control and play the game.

Can anyone challenge Heidelberg? The club is seriously flying.

Couldn't agree more. Without them we have no game. No umpire goes out of their way to cheat. People miss goals playing footy and umpires make mistakes too. We are all human

Tipping a crazy final day this weekend, Mac to beat Greensy and North to get the chocolates against Bundoora.
No Shepard for Bundoora by the looks, Daw could exploit this.. Upset brewing

Round 18, with last weeks ground being null and void, finals spots and relegation battle is still alive in last round.

Hurstbridge (8th 4-12) vs Whittlesea (9th 4-12). Both teams will be looking for a win to finish season 2022 and springboard into 2023. After last weeks washouts, the Eagles will still be keeping a close eye on Northcote Park vs Heidelberg game, if NP can cause the upset of the season and the eagles lose, it will be Whittlesea who goes back to Division 2 in 2023.
Both teams match up well, Higgins is a big out for the Eagles. At home Hurstbridge to get its 5th win of the season. Bridges by 23 points

Northcote Park (10th 3-13) vs Heidelberg (1st 15-1). Luckily last weeks results were declared null and void for the cougars as their 116 point belting from Bundoora pushed there % below Whittlesea’s. Now they need to cause the upset of the year and knock off ladder leader Heidelberg to and hope for an eagles loss to remain in division 1 in 2023. They have made 6 changes from last week which won’t help.
For the Tigers, I think coach Nolan will want a full dress rehearsal as they have the following week off. They brings back Poser and Schnerring as well. It should be curtains for the cougars as Heidelberg will end there 27 year run in division 1. Heidelberg by 67 points

Macleod (7th 7-9) vs Greensborough (5th 7-8-1). Macleod got the golden ticket with last weeks games being called off, they now have a chance to play finals in an elimination game against Greensborough. Can Brandt, Hobbs and McKeown kick a winning score against the Boro defence of Riddle, Bedford and Johnston? Greensborough smashed Macleod last time, it won’t be by 107 points this time but Greensborough to win and play finals. Boro by 21 points

Montmorency (2nd 12-4) vs West Preston (4th 8-7-1) Good finals tune ups for both teams. Mont welcome back Lin Jong who hasn’t played since 9th July loss to Heidelberg. The key for the roosters will be stopping Fitzgerald (63 majors), without Bzenic, next best for Mont is N Uzelac with 21. If they can do that, can they get enough goals from Tilley and Iaconaccio in the absence of Ahmed Saad. I don’t think they can. Mont by 31 points

Bundoora (3rd 12-4) vs Nth Heidelberg (6th 7-9). For North, they just have to win and hope Macleod can beat Greensborough for them to make finals. Bundoora though will look to end the doggies year and move into another division 1 finals series. Collins is a big out, not just for this week but more importantly the qualifying final the following week. Baddeley-Kelly not playing for North makes it that big harder for the doggies. Can Howard break even with Majok Daw? Who goes to Sam Lloyd? Can Shane Harvey wind back the clock and kick a bag? Lots of questions, 5pm tomorrow will tell the story. Bundoora by 17 points.

Enjoy the footy

Shep may still be away travelling. Howard did a reasonable job last week although you would expect Nth to win around the rucks. Collins out is a blow so someone needs to come into the midfield rotation for him

For the first time since 1994 Northcote Park will compete in Division 2.
6 premierships in that time including the 4peat from 1999-2002, which was a remarkable effort.
Sadly 3 wins from there last 30 games has meant that they have been the worst performing team in Division 1 over the last 2 years.
It will be interesting to see how they go back in Division 2, little to no depth in their reserves and no under 19’s.
It could be a tough few years for the Cougars.

Again Whittlesea and Hurstbridge punch above their weight in staying up in division 1, well done to both especially the Eagles who had some issues during the season and many pundits had them going back to Division 2. Overall though the Eagles have a division 1 19’s side and an undefeated under 17 division 1 premiers so future might be good for the Eagles.

Well done to Heidelberg, an absolute dominant season and they head into finals as shirt priced favorites.

Congratulations to Bundoora, Montmorency, West Preston and Greensborough as well on making 2022 NFNL finals series. It’s going to be an exciting 4 weeks of finals

4 out of 5 for final round missing on West Preston

Winner of the round: Greensborough did enough to secure 5th spot in what became a must win early elimination final for them. Jackson Hasler had his best game for the season in snagging 3 while defenders Bedford and Johnston were named the best. Sets up an intriguing elimination final against West Preston on Sunday at PCO.

Loser of the round: Obviously Northcote park is the biggest loser in being relegated but Montmorency seems to have gone off the boil in last few weeks. Round 16 loss to Bundoora, Round 17 behind at half time (only a few points to Nth Heidelberg) and a 12 point loss to West Preston on Saturday. A 3-2-20 to 0-4-4 meaning a come from behind win for the Roosters. Familiar names in Robinson, Donaldson and Fitzgerald and also the returning Jong in the best players. I am sure coach Ramsey will have them ready to go on Saturday in Qualifying final vs Bundoora at PCO

I don't understand the scheduling for the first week of the finals.

If they switched the u19's qualifying and elimination finals, they could have had all three Greensborough v WPL games be on the Sunday, and have all 3 Montmorency games on the Saturday.

correct , another typical stupid NFNL decision...
Very expensive weekend for club supporters , 2 entries and car parking ...disgraceful

You have to remember teams earn the extra days break so while convient for montmorency and boro the opposition who earnt a Saturday final may not agree.
All competing clubs are happy to change ....just the league the issue
Anyway they wont change now

You earn the right to to get a double chance, not an extra day. Plus it's local u/19s footy, they will play wherever and whenever.

Yet football administrators wonder why volunteers are hard to find, just burn them out by working Saturday and Sunday and give them no leisure time on the weekend when it was more practical to schedule all three matches on the one day.

Beggars belief.

NFL did the same for Div 2 last week. could have had both seniors and res for 2 clubs on same day but made them separate days. If your twos play Sat and seniors Sunday how many players do you hold over just incase and run the risk of those hold over guys missing out on a game of footy at either level.
