Seems like Eltham putting out a statement has just added more fuel to the fire. They must think they have their ducks in order but surely there was no need to release a statement on Facebook. Could have addressed key sponsors and members privately if they really felt the need. Bizarre decision although these rumours were swirling around pre season

It makes absolutely zero sense.

So players said they won't take a pay cut as they need the same money each week......but only for 14 weeks, after that they don't need the weekly payments....

What a crock of shit. And amazingly they are only now getting the forms in order (as per the rumour of it being a recent occurance)

That comment stood out like dog's balls.

Agreed re Diamo being rightful favourites in Div 2.
I was told tonight that all Grandfinal sides in all divisions will be audited by the NFL - Eltham may not be too worried with this approach but others may?
Audits do nothing other than find tiny admin errors.

Most clubs pay cash because there is zero paper trail, you canā€™t be caught

This stuff could ONLY happen in the NFNL!!
Stillman live in Eltham too or something?? šŸ«£šŸ¤”šŸ¤”šŸ¤«šŸ¤šŸ”•
What a farce, All these comments show just how ridiculous this sounds and in fact is! Covering their asses right at the last moment but apparently it was all planned pre season šŸ¤®

It's all very odd... Either the culture & leadership at Eltham is absolutely elite, or it's absolutely cooked.
Itā€™s a poor situation.

Theyā€™ve according to them spent 88k in 14 rounds which actually puts them over the D1 salary cap.

88,000/14 = 6285

6285 X 18 rounds - $113,000

Salary cap is $110,00 in D1

They should have just cut peoples pay and balanced the books.
