points wont matter if the club runs out at or under whatever the nfnl set themIt’s 3 clubs in 2 years
Would have to be even less than 400-500 as that only allows for 9-11 playerspoints wont matter if the club runs out at or under whatever the nfnl set them
and like the other inclusions he will be submitted on a spreadsheet at $400-500pw so all legit and above board on both fronts
This is exactly why points DO matterpoints wont matter if the club runs out at or under whatever the nfnl set them

yes i do understand that but if 22 players run out at whatever theyre allowed then its an even playing filed accordingly to nfnl points allocationThis is exactly why points DO matter
oh well less then combined with some alternate type accounting ha haWould have to be even less than 400-500 as that only allows for 9-11 players
Unless they are on excessive point allocations compared to the side they play against. If they play with 46 points like everyone else - then you are correct - equity exists.yes i do understand that but if 22 players run out at whatever theyre allowed then its an even playing filed accordingly to nfnl points allocation
well then its on the rival clubs who pay fees to full time adminidstrators to act on behalf of, and in their best interrests to ensure some level of equality rewmains.Unless they are on excessive point allocations compared to the side they play against. But that is currently the $1,000,000 question that all teams in Div 3 will be awaiting understanding on from the NFNL I would assume?

if not youll be ignored dictated to and without a voice like clubs in bendigo if you have followed the nonsewnse around broadford somehow landing in the bendigo league recently.
believe it or not the clubs are the key financial stakeholders and paid administrators need to be reminded of that from time to time.
Did they even use them?Reservoir got 5 extra points last year and were the most competitive they had been for a decade…
They should be getting less than 5 points extra as most of their list “should” stay meaning a reduction in all recruited players last year.
If they get anything more than 1-4 points extra every club will be up in arms and should be complaining.
Can’t go and recruit 3/4 ex afl players, no
Matter their age, and other recruits and then “Hope” they get extra points!
I love a take it to the bank in January!!Did they even use them?
Either way they will be playing on 46 points take it to the bank. I suggest the tactic of "get everyone and we will work it out later" is in play.
Clearly the 'best' team will not all fit in one game of allocated points.View attachment 2200097View attachment 2200098
I feel like this is saying different things?
One is 3 in 3 years the other is 2 in 3
If so many of these blokes will be extra points again
Current or previous 2 seasons. Says the same thing I think.View attachment 2200097View attachment 2200098

Hey mate, it’s works differently at headquarters. If you don’t recruit players and announce them then you don’t get extra points as why do you need them. But if you sign quality players to become more competitive then you will get extra points allocated so you can put a decent side on the park as it makes the competition better. That’s how it works!!Reservoir got 5 extra points last year and were the most competitive they had been for a decade…

This is great news Turbo ..... the club I follow has announced 12 new players already ...... we should get 65 points to play with this season!!Hey mate, it’s works differently at headquarters. However the flip side is you must be sure you have the finances to pay them also.
Mate without extra points clubs down the bottom just can’t compete ever. Even rebuilding will take 6-7 years. This is great news Turbo ..... the club I follow has announced 12 new players already ...... we should get 65 points to play with this season!!
Seriously though, two things ......
- this does not help the longer term viability or encourage teams to invest in juniors IF you can keep getting extra points to bring in players on higher points.
- The points cap is the ONLY thing that supports every competition in it's efforts to try and reduce inequity. The salary cap does not do that IF you listen to anyone involved in footy competitions around Australia.
Make the points cap the same for each club and then clubs can determine the structure of their list based on that.
I think points have been a good introduction to competitions - imagine the inequity between the haves and have nots if points were not taken into consideration and it was all on who has the most cash. The most ridiculous thing is a 'so called' salary cap.Mate without extra points clubs down the bottom just can’t compete ever. Even rebuilding will take 6-7 years.
It’s the only way since these idiots introduced this system which hasn’t helped in my opinion.
Hey mate, understand your views. But do Resa have juniors and does your club? Can they try that strategy of going after home growns??I think points have been a good introduction to competitions - imagine the inequity between the haves and have nots if points were not taken into consideration and it was all on who has the most cash. I can see your point re struggling clubs - absolutely - and as I said, last year it made sense to me. But what I am suggesting is that like any 'advantage/support' mechanism you set up, you still need to monitor how it is used so in supporting one club you don't unintentionally disadvantage others.
I can only use the club I follow as an example and not speak for others - we have chased ex-juniors and a few higher point guys to try and build a competitive team for this season knowing we have to play with 46 points. We only beat Ressa by 7 points the second time we met and IF they had a significant points advantage over us that allows them to get in several older AFL guys /multi-club players - where we cant. How is that equitable?
The points system is the best thing AFL Victoria has introduced.Mate without extra points clubs down the bottom just can’t compete ever. Even rebuilding will take 6-7 years.

I did hear Resa have a big powerbroker working behind the scenes hence the recruits and $$ to attract them.
Stay well mate and HNY
A big powerbroker and $$$ should not legally be able to assist the Mustangs when the salary cap is $75,000. Reservoir won a flag in 2015, whilst Kilmore haven’t won one since 2001 and Heidelberg West haven’t even played finals since God knows when. Why should Ressa be given assistance over a club like Heidelberg West?Hey mate, understand your views. But do Resa have juniors and does your club?
