Would they revert back to a larger division 2 until other clubs come on board?

There must be serious concerns about the division moving forward.
The gap is so large say Banyule to Reservoir.

10 is the ideal max for any division with 18 games.

We’ve seen a few clubs fold this season and I think even the strongest will struggle with reserves numbers. There will be allowances due to covid to forfeit games though

They needed a coach who could bring players as Epping have done. Unfortunately they seem to not have recruited anyone and lost their entire senior squad.

How will this be the case?

There wont be allowances at all. If you forfeit, you forfeit, theres no dates to make up games.

The win goes to the other side I just mean clubs won’t be punished as they have in the past. That is the precedent set for cricket at this stage.

End of the day it’s no good for the division having 8 sides 2 who are in dire straights. They either need a restructure or attract sides like they did the Banyule and Old Eltham.

Was speaking with the CEO of the league Broadford is in yesterday and he said that if a club is affected by covid and if they have enough players then the First team will be filled and if any reserve or under 18's team couldn't be filled it would be recorded as a draw for the other teams. But they also have a number of teams struggling for numbers apparently as well

A draw? Surely not. Should be a loss and other side gets the points.

Terrible idea, your playing the bottom sides who can’t field teams that week and you get a draw? What a diaster waiting to happen
No chance in hell a draw will be the outcome. Would effect finals and the result of the season way too much

Imagine you need a win in the last game of the year to make the finals and a team forfeits. Crazy

On the contrary , I praise the volunteers and players trying to make a concerted effort to help out the club they have an affinity for.
Good luck to the mustangs
At least someone has the decency to give the players and volunteers credit

What's the point in having a go and putting down a club where there's a group of guys just wanting to get out there and play the game we all enjoy

Not only thing they said they were looking at. They are also investigating about a limit on percentage gained if a team plays a team affected by covid in Outer East FNL, so will be interesting to see what rules they have when they come out.

If Epping get beaten by Mernda it’s going to be a longer season at Epping.
Epping know already it's going to be a tough year, and a game hasn't been played yet, but they have a future plan in place trying to rebuild the playing list.
Playing in a higher division, you would expect a few blowouts. I'm expecting to see them drop down a division at the seasons end.
Epping has a list of inexperienced kids, and there isn't a hell of a lot of experience left to select.
Hence why I said it's going to be a long year for Fletch and the Mernda FC if Epping beat Mernda.

Time will tell I still think Mernda will win the Patty Chow Cup.

NOT LONG TILL FOOTYS BACK!

I totally get what your saying but if Epping can’t beat a bottom 3 side from division 3 they should have been relegated and south take their spot because that’s simply just crazy.

I'm sure Southy would like some silverware to celebrate the hard work developing the kids over the past 4/5 years.
What's your opinion on Mernda?

South morang wanted to go up, that’s what they asked the league which was denied.

Mernda I suspect will improve. While they didn’t win to many games they weren’t embarrassed 20/30 odd points off the pace generally. I wouldn’t discount them from having a decent year.

Anyones a chance for finals besides Mustangs and Bloods.

I know a few of the younger blokes have had a huge off season in the gym and gained plenty size. With laurimar losing the quality they have it opens up that 4th spot.

Is Smith/Kimo/Austin going around again?
