Too many red wines with lunch Maxy?

The center gets heavy as it's a turf wicket and not synthetic like many others OR has not had a full time grounds person take care of it with full center wicket covers. That said, they have just purchased full square covers and discussions are under way to support a better outcome in winter. It will still be muddy by July I would imagine...........but don't worry, we have nice hot showers! LOL!

I playEd cricket in the oval last Saturday and we need footy foots in the field. Curator is obsessed with watering the ground. Can only imagine what it is like during winter.

Nah The Turtles oval was “very” lush and covered in Kangaroo poo.

Lalor and Reservoir will improve a lot. They have actually picked up some quality. But will still last and second last. Hopefully they can keep there lists after this year and then add more. They are each a few years.

Whitnall and Parkes would play at most other clubs. Rexheppi a few aswell. There bottom 10-12 players are still going to be poor, which is the problem

Once you factor in the odd injury here and there. Their presumable lack of depth means we'll still see a few 200+ losses here and there

Based on everything I've read on BigFooty the past 3 months D3 Northern is going to be one of the premier leagues in Metro Melbourne, so they'll need these D1 quality recruits to be competitive!

Will be interesting considering both teams have won about a combined 2 games in the last 3 years and both have been glenroy .

Glenroy have bought in some bigger bodies and that from watsonia and a few others from edfl bottom div. Hope they have a good run. But will have the same problem, a few injuries no depth and their reserves will get pumped.

good on them but with 70 players signed and 40 odd training its a bit of a worry that leaves 30 odd not training and not fit, not full committed and not knowing the game plan

It's a fair point in some ways, but to be fair most clubs would not have 100% of their 'registered' players training both nights at the moment. Let's say most are training 1 night a week so you cover the vast majority of players across the two sessions in the week?

I actually hope that what we are reading for Lalor and Ressa is going to mean that they are more competitive and the competition as a whole improves. Whilst our club is new to the comp, I'm not new to NFNL/DVFL and think the comp is much better when clubs aren't getting smacked by 200 points every week. Good luck to them and Everton who is trying to improve their recent situation.

An amazing 62 on the track last night and a couple of new faces ......it must be February and the chatter of practice games being only a month away!

All jokes aside, great to have such good numbers this year at pre-season. Last year at this time we would have been lucky to have 25.

We won't know where we sit in terms of talent/competitiveness in a new competition until we have played half a dozen games or so but the buzz to have so many people vying for spots feels great.
