Mill Park very strong still( and are affiliated with Watsonia), only a few ks up the road,Lalor are relying(praying )on the non footy club next door to fund their resurgence, instead of working hard to attract juniors or getting affiliation with Mill Park

All due respect but what can they do about it if there’s no kids in the area?
Lalor, Reservoir, North Heid, Bundoora, Keon Park, West Heid, Panton Hill, Turtles, Watsonia, Northcote Park, Lower Plenty, Thomastown, Kinglake all either have no junior teams or very few teams. Why would the AFL or NFNL try to help Lalor. Their juniors are gone for good. Move

Two questions though in relation to player points
1) Do Lalor now have 50 points each week, they only played ar 39 on the weekend but haven’t seen or read anything about extra points from NFNL
2) Rexhepi is down as a one point player, is this correct?

What a fantastic come back from the Turtles who looked all at sea early against last year's runners up. Mernda looked too quick and clean early but the Turtles ran all over them in the 2nd half. Hit the front with 32 seconds left after being wasteful in front of goal (including hitting the post from a few metres out late in the final quarter) and sealed it with another goal shortly after.

A really good start to the 2024 campaign, could see these two facing off in the GF.

Nb I feel sorry for ex-AFL players in local leagues, playing div 3 five years after finishing up in the AFL and Macaffer was still copping cheap shots from the opposition.

Anyone who has ever played there don't want to play there, it's an absolute disgrace especially for a joint that has that much money.

Was there watching the 2's and there was 2 or 3 league officials inspecting the ground talking to clubs and umpires, then turtles got a ute out full of dirt, wheel barrow 6-8 blokes shovels, rakes trying to patch it up.

To be fair it is DIV 3 football and I assume that Macaffer knows the level of footballer that he is playing against and the tactics that they will employ against him and Gilmour etc... Hitting blokes hard going in for the ball and making sure they don't get easy kicks, fine. Belting blokes around the head behind the play because you are too fat, slow and/or shit to get to the ball first is just pissweak.

Jesus didn't they do that last year too? Or was that Laurimar? In their heads, no wonder they lost! They're acting like it's a mudheap like some of the grounds we played on in the 90s! I remember playing at West Preston or Ressa and the field was just one big mudheap with manure thrown into the mix, almost chucked doing the warm up lap.
