I hardly live in a Collingwood bubble.

I have given credit where it is due to many opposition teams and opposition players in my time on BigFooty.

If you ventured on to the Collingwood board to see what I have to say there, you may have discovered that I actually rarely post there.
Be honest with yourself
You can't even bring yourself to acknowledge Peter Daicos individual season in 1990 as anywhere near what Nick did in 2023 . Open your eyes pal

I never said 'it was nowhere near it'.

Nonetheless, did you see Collingwood in 1990?

How about others - Collingwood supporters or not - did anyone consider Peter Daicos in the top handful of players in the competition at any point of his career?

But I'm biased and live in a Collingwood bubble because I believe Nick's 2023 season was better than his dad's 1990...

Yep, I lived through the Pies flag in 1990.
Was Peter Daicos considered the top handful of players at any point of his career ? Too right he was
Saw him kick 13 one day up at Cararra. Yep - he was special alright

Nah it's all good.

Great to see you value my opinion so much that you visit the Collingwood board to see what I have to say there...
Heh heh.
What is this Collingwood board you speak of?
Do you need to catch a plane to ge there? Is it a 12 hour commute?

Why are you having a go at someone who can get there within two clicks of a mouse from this thread?

Yep, he was special. A brilliant player.

But you're rewriting history if you think he was ever rated in the top handful of players in the competition in any given season.

But what would I know? I live in a Collingwood bubble and grossly overrate players from my team.

It’s not that you think he is in the top handful of players, you think he could be the GOAT. Its grossly OTT to think that given he isn’t even the best player right now and there’s been about 30 players of the last 20 years who are better and will probably still have better careers when all is done.

History repeating?

Have 3 lifelong friends, one sadly passed away in 2016, who followed the Blues. All of them of the nice variety, unlike the many feral ones on BF. They all argued the same about Peter Daicos as Nick Daicos cops on this thread. They never rated Peter. Depended on others giving him the ball and not hard enough were their biggest criticisms.

When Wayne Johnston's book came out, which they all read. There was a comment by Johnston on a match at Princess Park v Collingwood that read 'we thought we should win but Daicos kicked 7 goals on Bruce Doull. Nobody but nobody kicks 7 goals on Bruce Doull'.

From that point on, they conceded a little bit on their original stance. It is amazing how bias can colour our views.

Lol McRae so desperate to get Nickouttheback seen as the second coming he gives him 2 coaches votes when there were plenty of more effective players. This explains perfectly why the master of bruise free footy polled so well in this award last year. No doubt roughly 70 votes from McRae, about 29 from the opposition coaches. Pies love the media attention. This is precisely why they last went B2B before the Everly Brothers were even born.

Looking forward to your reaction when the umpires give him 2 or 3 on Brownlow night...

Hang on, but Brownlows didn't count when Dusty won with record votes in 2017 according to you. "Too binary."

You are embarrassing yourself on this thread Fadge, but that is what we all love about you. You are fully prepared to be the laughing stock of BigFooty. And you are successful at it. :)

Reminder that apparently having Nicky boy at 8th best in the comp is bias and trolling... Apparently
It just doesn't make sense . Your description of him as a squib, can't win contested possessions, can't win the hard ball is the description of a player who is not AFL standard and if anyone at Collingwood agreed with this assessment, he would be a VFL player only and maybe not even that.

Yet you place him 8th in the AFL. WTF????????

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but trying to figure out the above is like trying to make sense of the Trump supporters or the 'flat earth' people, who are probably one of the same.

My opinion is that he is far too early in his career to be even considered as being in the top 10 players, let alone 8th. However, I do not give a rats that he is not a hard nut type of player. His skills with disposal and decision making, his work ethic or running himself into the ground, his excellent performance in the GF, have made him a joy to watch. Should be put another 4 or 5 years of his current level or better, then he may be in the top 10 players in the AFL.

The Bontempellis, my current no.1, the Petraccas, have earned their place in the top 10. Nick not just yet.

Another poster who is too distracted by what they want me to say, instead of quoting what I actually said.

Just take it easy, sit back and watch a legitimate GOAT contender for the next dozen years.

Lol must be nice to live in a world where when your hypocrisy is highlighted you simply deny you took the first position that proves the second position hypocritical. Trouble is the rest of us live in a world where you say something, you own it.

It's more than fair to rate body of work when ranking your top 10.

I'd be interested to see who your top 10 is, and then which of them you think a coach would take ahead of Daicos:
A) For 2024, and
B) For the next 5 years
