Congrats on your debutant - folks. He looks to be everything written and spoken since and before his drafting.

I would think most clubs would be nervous playing your guys from here on in.

I know I was shaking every time the ball went near him.

Cheers.

Make no mistake eagles fans. You have an absolute freak on your hands. In a few years time, if not sooner, this guy will be unstoppable. I sat near the eagles bench and was staggered at how big this kid is. His height and size for a 19 yo is amazing. His leap in the ruck was unbelievable. He did a couple of things on the night which blokes this big just shouldn't be able to do.

I simply cannot believe melbourne passed this kid up.

If you've seen a picture of him with his shirt off, you'd realize that he doesn't really need any more bulking up. He's already a monster at a 100kg. He's a tank. His height and his jumper hides his muscle. Another 10kg over a few more preseasons won't affect his athleticism but will make him unstoppable physically.
Of more concern to me is getting him to peak fitness. Then his chasing and tackling will be brought to the fore.

Naitanui won't just be too fast for the slow ruckmen he'll play on, but also too quick for half the midfielders going around the league. Again it's a fitness issue that needs to be sorted before we'll see this on display.

According to the 2009 AFL Prospectus, Nicholas Naitanui is 201cm and 94kg. If he get up around the 106kg mark while maintaining his athleticism, he'll be unstoppable athletically, and he's already pretty awesome in that regard.

Thought he played a promising game, a few highlights and a few jaw dropping moments. A good first up effort.

After watching the highlights package above, I did not realise he played as well as he did. Don 't want to jinx him but wholy F***

Anyone still have any regrets over not picking the stump blonde headed kid?

Daniel who?

Yeah, he has added roughly ~6kg before the start of the season, there was an article about it, you will notice it as well if you can find a picture of him before the season and a picture of him now ..

he has the lote tuqiri fijian type genes in that he should be able to play at ~100-110 without really losing any of his athleticism, imagine him at that weight and height with that speed and agility .. oh .. my .. god.

hey even as a freo fan and eagles disliker, i was really excited every time nicnat got near the ball. Excitement machine and sublime skills. i'd watch eagles games just to see him play. Next derby shud be good - nicknat and hilly

Everytime we had the ball close to the forward 50 I hoped they would just kick it to Naita. I dont care how many blokes were on him just put it on his head and let him do some magic, cant wait to watch him play again!! really cant wait till he gets 50+ games under his belt.

great athlete...but really nothing but a showbag atm...hope he can get footy smart then he will be a star...good signs tho :thumbsu:

No footy smarts??? I cant believe people are still falling for this it was a draft camp rumor so Melbourne didnt take him!! Naita showed some footy smarts, both those score assists, being in the goal square when the long bomb kick came in and then marking, following up on a ruck tap and then clearing the ball ect... all footy smarts rather than pure athletesism.
