Probably Granville for mccarthy, gives us more speed forward

You’d need a defender to replace wright, luckily for her we don’t have any better options in reserve unless you restructure the team

While attention is elsewhere, Richmond massive upset win over Brisbane.
There are a couple of expansion clubs that have made progress in the off season, Richmond and Geelong have looked pretty good at times during the opening rounds. It will be interesting to see if they can sustain over the next five rounds and perhaps the finals, but at least it's a positive step for the Women's league.

The Brisbane full forward trying to play on from the top of the goal square after a mark & getting her kick smothered was one of the dumbest things I've seen in quite some time
Cost them the game, such a brain fade

The Adelaide surface a few weeks back was a gluepot in the centre square yet that got the go-ahead. I doubt Arden St will be worse than that.

As for Punt Rd Oval, we can only hope they don't **** up like they did last week. I wonder if they are going to make 100s queue up at the Brunton Avenue entrance until after the first bounce while the Punt Rd entrance has no queue.

The unevenness of the comp means the draw is going to have a massive impact on the ladder.

With such an uneven draw, I'd be curious to see a ladder based on "1 pt for each victory of each team you defeated".
This seems to be a much better indicator of the best teams, even if it would be a bit freaky to follow:

"Massive" impact is a bit of a stretch atm. And it's only having an impact at all because of the injuries to Fremantle, which allowed the Dogs, Blues & Cats to grab 2-4 points off them that they otherwise wouldn't have.

If Freo had been travelling at 100%, we'd be in no different position than we are now (50-50 chance for 4th spot, basically). But we do need them to come good by R8, otherwise the Bulldogs and Collingwood might end up with undeserved 8-2 records, thereby pushing us down to the 6th-7th rungs (at which point the impact is indeed verging on massive).

Nevertheless, we won't miss top 4 if we beat Brisbane (who we are better than, according to your rather bizarre table) and appropriately account for the other 4 teams that we've got coming up.

It’s kind of massive when the top end is so strong and the bottom end so weak - everyone in the middle is affected by how often their fixture pits them against each of those groups.

Agreed. Let's say the four easy beats are Syd, Haw, GWS and Port and the four best are Bri, Ade, Mel and Coll.
Bulldogs play 3 of the bottom 4 (miss Sydney) and only Melb from the top 4.
Meanwhile we play all of the top 4 and only Port and Sydney from the bottom 4.
As the ladder stands at the moment the Bulldogs play 7 of the bottom 8 teams, and only Melb, North and Geelong from the top 10.

The fixture was predicated on Adel, BL, Coll, Frem, Melb & NM being the clear top 6 across the past 2 seasons. Rather than being so strong, it's the fact that one of those teams has dropped off which is what's going to potentially cause some issues.

Not a massive issue, though, if the impact is just the Bulldogs sneaking into 4th and we finish 5th, rather than us in 4th and them in 5th. In either case we're probably staring down a semi-final against them at Ikon Park.
