Ha…. yeah… so few followers on Twitter…

I noticed that my twitter followers were at 192. A few weeks later I made a tweet that got about 50 likes.(my avg is 1). I thought this might be enough engagement to get me up to 200. So I checked my profile and my updated follower count was 184.

I think if you had tweeted the “Tartare sauce on the Pastie Fail” it would have gone virus

Flash some upper thigh dude

So how about that Noble bloke...

We look better forward of the ball. We are more unpredictable and therefore more dangerous.

HE clearly has the group playing for him and buying in. Given that we have picked a direction and are showing a resolve to stay the path, Noble is likely to get beyond the first couple of years. Meaning that with the natural upswing in development he is likely to be more Brad than Shaw in terms of tenure. It is gonna be a ride.

Maybe he should flash some upper thigh to get some attention, instead of talking about Teffy.

I don't quite understand why people would bring him into conversation from outside sources. I mean when he is here, its another story but to be going to other sites and bringing shit back from there is like when a cat brings its owner a dead bird. No one asked for it and fewer want it.

I had a chat with a dual North "Premiership Player" over the weekend, really had some great things to say about "Nobes", the most interesting thing he said was, "Nobes is very 'Paganesque' in his coaching and beliefs........ just keep watching and you'll see it become more predominant over the next few years"

Interesting comparison. The process thing was taken so out of context. Every successful coach would implement a set of standards and behaviours that form a process.

Denis came in and put a sign up (can't if on his desk or in the rooms) that was something like "we are a defensive team" and drilled that as a team vision. He enforced front and centre positioning, quick ball movement and heavy emphasis on contesting. All behaviours formed by a coaching process.

I wrote this in the gameday thread, but it bears repeating;

It's really obvious to see how good the Noble game-plan will be once we get an injection of talent and class into the forward line.

Our backline and midfield are creating opportunities, but they stall too often once we get close to our own forward 50.

This is the most enduring problem we need to solve.

We have good defensive scramble and set up generally. sometimes we get caught in the fold forward creating a mismatch deep but that his become limited.

Midfield has gotten better at owning, defending, avoiding the corridor.

the forward line continues to be a work in progress. We are some times too tentative. Some times too quick.

There are examples of us taking the wrong choice.

Jy got the 50 paid for the protected area thing and then streamed forward hit the 50m mark with a head of steam. He should be having that shot. instead he tried to pass and then turned it over. I understand the desire to get the ball into a good position to take a shot. IMO he is going to be captain and he should be take responsibility for shots like that. There was an instance in the third similar where Stephenson had the ball inside 50 and chose to pass rather than take the shot. ball was turned over and went back down the other end.

We also continue far too often to bang the ball long in hope. Giving our forwards next to no chance. this is not a new thing by any stretch. It is also exacerbated by forwards leading to the same spaces.

The dogs by contrast last night have leading patterns down to the point where there is an understanding between the ball carrier and the forward. The ball carrier knows where the lead is going, the forward knows where the ball is going, they execute.

The inside 50 marks were 12 -2 in the first half. that really highlights the difference between a contender and a team that is still scrambling.

We looked significantly better in the last when we were taking shots kicking points and forcing repeat inside 50s because we'd been able to set up better behind the ball.

IMO there are a few things going on:
- we are young, Larkey and Zurhaar are the forward line leaders. I mean these 2 have been a bit all over the place this year. We moved Jack back, and got rid of Brown. Cam is through his rough trot now. Larkey is not yet doing it consistently. bit hard to lead when you're worried about your own game.
- we lack a mature KPF, I mean on the list entirely. X may one day be a mature forward, Campbell never will, no other players even remotely have a claim on being it at this stage.
- We rotate players through there that long term won't really play there. This is almost unavoidable. Philips, LDU, these blokes are better mids than they ever will be forwards.
- We have the caught in two minds thing as articulated above.

I do wonder whether a former development manager in Younie is the man for the job of our forward structure.

Hope he works on our goal kicking in the offseason.
We struggle to kick goals on the run/take initiative and almost never kick from a mark outside or around the 50m line.

They do work on goal kicking in their craft training sessions if I remember hearing.

It’s more about the players having confidence in themselves and backing their own ability without hesitation.
