Chest out tarrant? He took free agency? And from all reports would have walked a year earlier, asked the question of a trade. He was gone. An extra year wasn't going to get him over the line. Some chance of winning was

This is not my perception of that situation but its been done to death.

Looks that way.

The whole McGuiness commentary was just bizarre.

Leaving a hole in your list based on a kid that has never played a game at AFL level and is arguably not even KPD size.

Based on our current list composition will be filling out spreadsheets for Centrelink pretty soon.

Have you slept yet

The team we played against last night are a good example of where we are at IMO. They had a few years of pain before pushing up the ladder. Perhaps we are a little bit further back than what we had hoped but it takes time.

I also go back to the old saying..... Things are never as bad as they seem and nor are they as good as they seem.

We need to stick fat! No compulsive coach sacking! We are NMFC, not like a few other teams.

They went from 74% to 89% in Fagan's first two years. We were at 70% last year so we'd want to be at least 80% by season's end.

The NMFC Board need to hold a meeting early this week and ask for a 'please explain' from David Noble annd the GM of Football Performance Daniel McPherson following last nights match failure. This should be a first warning from the Board. That performance last night could likely kill off any late membership renewals. We can barely get 25,000 to a game at Marvel when were playing ok. Supporters will be reluctant to attend a match based on the garbage served up last night. Unless Noble and McPherson can turn this around fast, I fear we are heading down a dead end street and wide open for new speculation on the future of the club.

Alright let’s say they sack Noble who replaces him?
1:Clarkson has already said No.
2:Simpson the same.
3:Longmire in the same boat.
They is no current or Ex coach that will not go near North as we are not the most attractive club in the support.
We lack the support of attracting High profile players ,Sponsorship,The media in all forms,Decent administrators and coaches and the lack of support from our members and supporters at games doesn’t help either.
Now how do fix this stick with Noble as coach Rawlings as an administrator Amarfio as CEO and Hood as chairman or do we start again .
I know we can’t change things overnight but we can’t get beaten by 100+points in games.
I don’t expect to win many games but you want see improvement as each game goes by.

To me Clarko sounded disappointed that he knocked back the North job after remaining loyal to Hawthorn who shafted him.
Clarkson is definitely gettable and we have the $$$$ to get his signature.
Reckon that by years end Simpson will also be available plus Nafan Buckley would be should we want to go down that path.
I personally would go after Clarko.
We won’t have an opportunity to get a high profile coach like this for a while.
Noble isn’t coach material, great GM or Head of Football but out of his depth as a coach. Cut our losses now to reap the rewards in the future.
Clarko would also be able to lure players to the club. He is also the closest thing to Denis Pagan and will make us relevant again.

Pretty sure the lions didn't gut their list compltely before bringing in Fagan and had already had a tonne of early picks. Both coaches came in at completely different points of their rebuild.

It's going to be a couple of years before we're anywhere close to a point where fans will be happy with the results.

In the meantime it's actually making an effort that will keep the members happy, and we didn't see that last night from 80% of the players out there.

Realistically most of the mess we are looking at is squarely on this same board rather than Noble. They are the ones that allowed the state of the list at the end of Brad Scott's era / Shaw's start and they are also the ones that okayed decimating it to go hard in the draft - a bit rich of them to complain that a list with a bare handful of senior players and most of them past their best can't compete. This was always on the cards with their approach.

Good point. Ultimately the coach the GM of football performance carry the responsibilty for on field success and failure.

When we went up against the Dogs on the second occasion last year, with Tarrant back there this time, how did Brucey go about trying to get in our faces? Tarrant was there, right in it, making sure his teammates weren't bullied this time.

That's what we're missing. We're leaderless.

Sure, but that wasn't the discussion. He wanted out

Cmon we can't sack Noble as we are in this rebuild and we have to stick together. We need to see improvement over the rest of the season and a game plan we understand.
The Players need to be held accountable and they need to show us that they want a future at North Melb. Its on Jack Zieball as captain to stand up and show leadership.

Sydney in Sydney.
Dogs on Good Friday.
Cats in Hobart.

Off the back of Brisbane in Brisbane.
The next 3 weeks are going to be just as brutal.

Our current percentage sits at 61.4%.
There’s a big chance it will fall below 50% by the time the final siren sounds against Geelong.

It really is disheartening and if we don’t put in a spirited performance against the Swans well be lucky to get 25,000 to Good Friday. It’s getting serious now.

The guy that has been here 2 minutes (Macpherson)?

He’s taken up the hardest job in football, carrying the responsibility for onfield success and failure of the worst list in the comp.

Last night was deplorable but take the equivalent of Cunnington, Anderson, LDU, Thomas, and Philips out of any team and they will struggle. More so against a flying Brisbane at home.

We aren’t aiming for a premiership this season, we need to see what happens over a period of games.

V Hawks - their senior players are better than ours
V WC - losing 2 mids in game is a recipe for a massive loss, we got the win still.
V Lions - player availability is an issue and we copped a knockout punch in the first 4 mins.

Let’s see what we go next few weeks against some more quality squads.

The players you mentioned were all in the game vs the dogs last year.

We have to be really competitive in the next 3 matches. It is so important that we show up.

Players need to actually show something not just to us but to Noble too. Blokes already growing grey hairs from what he's seen so far.

That may be the most depressing comment I’ve read on BF all weekend.
Geez the draw is brutal considering our current feeble state
Cunners and Phillips played their first games for the year, Anderson and Polec were gone to injury halfway thru the game.
