Reading this board is a bit bemusing, I don't understand the anger. You all know that you're rebuilding, and while you rebuild you will have a lot of players that are just placeholders until you can get the list to where you want it. Unfortunately that means waiting for the draft/trade period for a few years in a row. Short term results are completely meaningless to you, but every week people on here are going crazy that you're losing.
Having a couple of hungover traddies on a continual smoko is not rebuilding.

The performance of the side is far below the quality of it. No one is expecting the side to challenge for the 8.

Coach makes a big difference in terms of getting the best out of the list and being tactically set-up. Look at the difference a change in coach had for your side.

And **** off as well.

Personally think it's harsh to judge Noble this short into his stint considering the state of our list, but it's becoming increasingly apparent that I'm in the minority here on BF in terms of this position.

I really think some folks here rate our list much higher than it is in reality, with well over half our players who have been considered 'best 22' at some point over the last 12 months being either plodders, or guys whose best footy is long behind them;

Bonar
Bosenavulagi
Corr
K. Hayden
Larkey
Lazzaro
Mahoney
McDonald
Polec
Bailey Scott
Turner
Walker
Young
Xerri
Ziebell

There's some names on there I'm sure people will argue for, but the overall skill level of these guys has been poor for years, and it's not just a recent Noble development for most of them.

The fact that several of them are so vital to our structure is a perfect symptom of the sick state of our list.

This is a multi-year rebuild, no matter who the coach is. I'd rather our young guys have some consistent coaching for as long as possible, especially considering the whole Scott➡️Shaw➡️Noble fiasco.

3 of them i'd keep the rest should ****ed off tonight. And why some were drafted I find bemusing.

Some of those guys aren’t even playing and some are and shouldn’t be and some and are played in the wrong position on a weekly basis. You fail to acknowedge any of this in your ‘defence’.

Some posters here;

"I don't know why our young players are struggling with the gameplan"

Also those same posters;

"We should fire Noble and have our 4th head coach in three years!"

It’s not the fact that we are losing it’s the way we are losing. There is no intent, no consistency and we are seeing 0 development. We are rudderless and we have a severe lack of game plan. This year we have gone backwards at a rate of knots.

Combine that with poor selections at the selection table every week (two rucks over Comben), Stupid list management decisions and poor drafting then you can understand why our supporters are frustrated.

We just want to see signs of progress, and at present we are seeing absolutely nothing.

You are truly pathetic. Cannot even see that we don’t have a ‘gameplan’ and have got worse since Noble took over.

Are you even capable of criticising him?

Most aren’t criticising the game plan most are criticising that we don’t have one and have no structure whatsover. Which is 100 percent on the coach.

Atu - get rid of
Turner - get rid of
Young - get rid of
Walker - get rid of

Greenwood - meh
Scott - meh
Mahoney - meh
Xerri - meh

Goldy - almost done
Ziebell - almost done

7 of those blokes wouldn't be getting a game at any other club, 2 are almost done and one is a role player.

Thats almost half our team today, and the rest are mostly kids or forwards reliant on ball movement up the ground.

We are in real trouble this year.

Hawthorn who most thought were equal/worse than us also beat Geelong last week. Says a lot about picking a coach with a good football brain and not some hopeless administrator.

Do you really think this list is capable of being competitive in the AFL?

I'm more than happy to criticise Noble; I think our selections have been nonsense and he has shown no reliable ability to pivot on GameDay.

But you seem to think that our list is full of young stars who should be pushing us off the bottom of the ladder which just has no basis in reality whatsoever.

Our list is terrible and some of our "young stars" are in reality 'just okay.

Maybe the current crop can't execute?

Our situations are very different, we had already built the list we just had a coach who couldn't pull it all together.

The performances have been abysmal though and the lack of structure in 1.5 seasons of coaching and consistently questionable team selections is why most wouldn’t trust him with a third year. He hasn’t shown improvement or learnings as a coach thus far and our club can’t afford this.

The next 3 or 4 weeks will be very definitive for Noble. We shouldn’t be serving up crap like this and if we are make the consistently under performing players accountable.

There are still list issues, but even in rebuilding sides you should be able to see a coach trying implement a system/philosophy… but there is nothing there from this coach.

David King picked it up very early on this season about Nobel ( ie no method) ….and is 100% spot on

If I'm Hood & Co I'd be getting a review of our list management and player development processes done first.

All the while keeping an eye on coaching and player buy-in / morale but not acting until a solid conclusion is made on the first items.

Agreed.
