If. Not when but if. There are no guarantees that the rebuild will be a success. It took Melbourne a rebuild after a rebuild to win the Premiership. Remember Scully and Trengove? That first rebuild of theirs failed. How abouts Carlton with Gibbs and Kreuzer? Check out Gold Coast. They’ve been building since inception. The question is do we have the right people in charge of the rebuild? Are Rawlings, Luff and Noble the right people? Currently it ain’t looking flash. :stern look
Time will tell. There are no guarantees.

I've got a lot of time for Noble but like KC said, there needs to be a review.

Why do the players seem to lack interest and can't get up for games or show intent for longer than half a quarter...

Is a situation like Brisbane were facing under leppitsch? A complete cluster **** behind the scenes.

Or is it like Richmond when they were contemplating sacking Hardwick. If it is like this we need to get everything out in the open (inner sanctum wise) and spill some home truths. Get everyone back on board and buying into the project...because at the moment it doesn't seem like they are.

  • the skill level
  • the I50 entries
  • the same ****ing predictable kickouts
  • the lack of communication that leads to players spoiling one another and all running for the ball
  • the lack of fitness
  • openly playing into the oppositions hands every ****ing week by letting them play 1 behind the ball while we play an extra on the ball - the extra doesn't give us an advantage when we just hack kick it to the spare man.
  • the lack of development in most of the players...they all seem to hit a wall and don't kick on

So many issues right now.

Adelaide, collingwood and hawthorn were all supposed to be at our level this year. They all kicked on or turned it around. Are playing attractive football. We got worse...it's terrible on so many levels.

Sort it ****ing out North.

What wasn’t ‘tough’? Our effort. Our intent.
That’s all we’re looking for.

Everyone was happy with the Sydney game. Thrilled with the Bulldogs 3/4 of a quarter. People aren’t desperately willing Noble to fail or hoping we lose. It’s nothing personal. In fact I’d wager that over 80% of people want Noble to succeed.

He’s a likeable guy with, apparently, a talented list and a plan.
But we’re not seeing much talent or any semblance of a plan. Consistently, we’re not even seeing effort.

You know what else is tough? The industry.

If you’re in this industry for two or three years and aren’t showing improvement, people get fed up.

just give it a rest.
That statement actually says nothing and is the most generic, meaningless bunch of tripe i’ve ever read from someone associated with a football club.
We’ll keep doing things that aren’t working because we are stupid is essentially what she is saying without realising it. We won’t make people accountable (the coach doesn’t), we’ll accept not improving and getting worse because that’s what’s supposed to happen… we will just keep going along the same path picking the same people and just accepting that they’re there without questioning whether they should be.

That sounds pessimistic but you’re actually correct.

I was, through family and friends, present at most Port matches from 2004 through to 2011. Between 04 and 07 attendance was great. By 2009 I could count on one hand what was left of the 23 the supporters in our row. By 2010/11 most footy fans would know what happened: our entire bay down at Footy Park replaced with a tarpaulin.

And that was also a team with a rich and successful history, dyed-in supporters and with recent success. Not “relatively” recent - I’m talking a matter of 5 years after they won a premiership.

And we play in a league that’s more of a business than ever. A league that tried to ship us up to the Gold Coast.

So yeah I agree. To those happily marching down the road of mediocrity, I say: excuse us for being a bit concerned.

We’re not even asking for results. Just a sign of a plan and some improvement

Geez you're an aggressive person after a loss.

Genuinely explain to me what you want the club to do?

Fire Noble? 27 games into his stint as head-coach? And if we do fire him, who is the interim HC? Who is the target for future head coach? How do we explain to our young players that having the 4th and 5th head coaches in three years is actually a good thing for their development, as they're asked to learn a new gameplan in the middle of the season?

I genuinely want to know what your plan is, other than some reactionary and emotional nonsense about making people "accountable".

Sorry that I’m not an idiot that can’t identify the fact that the side is bereft of any structure and we have a coach who keeps making the same selection mistakes week after week. But he has obviously done nothing wrong and is doing a great job.

And we’ll just ignore how Collingwood, Adelaide and Hawthorn are going while we’re at it - all sides that we should be tracking comparably to.

We have an idiot in charge who has no idea how to set up a football side and was an administrator before we poached him to coach our football side.

His press conferences are just a train wreck as well.

But yeah lets just keep picking the likes of Bailey Scott and trusting him to bring the ball of defence and them lamenting the turnovers…

Lets give him a four year extension so nuffy fans who think the best of everything can be happy.

Give it a ****ing rest. Everyone is angry. If you can’t find a way to get through this shit without jumping at every shadow then maybe find a new hobby. Cos it is boring AS **** for everyone else.

Not quite sure why you're so highly opinionated when you support Richmond? Maybe go back to your own board

I just think going to the ‘rebuild’ is a safe way to brush aside the real issues going on. It looks like it’s a lack of effort. From round 2 we weren’t too focused or really considered the ‘rebuild’ word. Now it’s almost a safety net to fall back on for bad performances due to lack of effort.

It was a nothing statement and it said absolutely other than we are not going to hold anyone accountable at the club and we’re ignoring the fact that other rebuilding clubs are tracking much better.

We made a mistake, we need to own it for the sake of the club going forward. Getting an administrator into coach was a very big risk and his non-existent tactical set-up is not helping the club or the players in the short of long term. He definitely needs to go at the end of the season. The way we are tracking we have gone backwards on even last season and that’s not acceptable.

You have already given him next year - which means there’s no accountability that you’re placing upon him this season. He needs to show his worth as a ****ing coach.

Scott, Young, Atu will all be picked next week. You just watch.. and apologists for Noble will defend him. We can’t keep picking so many ****ing players who can’t kick and retain possession of the football and rely upon players who are incapable of hitting targets under no pressure to be our guys to pass through opposition defensive zones 😆

Nope. The club has had some horrible decisions as has the coach. Will anyone be held accountable this week? Nope.

Same nothing selections and same embarassing press conferences from the under qualified administrator. He said during the week we were ‘getting the ball in there’ and framed that as a positive. We are very much last for inside 50’s.. this is the sort of coach we’ve appointed at the bargain basement cost.

You can be a happy clapper as can others but it’s getting us nowhere and this football club is being run to the ground with terrible list management and horrible coaching appointments.

It isn’t a good look when your VC and likely future captain is liking this.
It’s actually a great look. Good ****ing on him.

But yeah Tom is unfit blah blah blah the coach is right he shouldn’t be playing. That’s the line from the happy clappers which is absolute rubbish.

That's your opinion. That's great. Just don't assume you speak on behalf of all North supporters.

I'm not sure about others but at no point have I felt we were better than Collingwood or Adelaide in the last couple of years. Even when Adelaide finished below us, their list was in a much better position than ours.

Hawthorn has genuinely shocked me, but their most experienced players/leaders are so much better than ours. Mcevoy, Bruest, Gunston and Tom Mitchell - 8 premierships, 1 Brownlow medal, a bunch of All Australian's between them.

Goldy, Ziebell and Cunners are the best/most experienced 3 players on our list. Goldy hasn't adjusted to a second position like Mcevoy has transitioning to defense in recent years. Ziebell has been ok and Cunners has more important things to worry about.
