"2-3 years to be contending for the top 4" - I agree, the "major rebuild" spiel is bullshit.

"2-3 coaching roles left open for the new coach to shape his strategies" -

"Door is always open for Rhyce to return" - :thumbsu:

You're another one in the "major rebuild" camp mate?

Nah, have stated a number of times that I would prefer to see Brown at the Roos. More suggesting what might be going through the mind of the list management team.

For mine, playing 2 key position forwards where one is under 22 with a handful of games and the other hasn't even played one yet is recipe for disaster.

That's really not a lot of time.
Especially when our ruckman is close to retirement and we probably need another mature key forward.
A LOT of pressure to put on a new head coach.

I think if he has us pushing for the 8 in 3 years time, with a really strong group of kids that are showing development and consistency, that is a big tick.

I think that a 2-3 years to contention and "major rebuild" aren't necessarily mutually exclusive concepts.

It's all a bit like arguing over Elite, A grade, Star, Superstar designations - what's a major rebuild for me might be normal list turnover for someone else. Some see major rebuild as a 5+ year plan and others see it as a 2 year and back in hard exercise.
