This and returning to years of compromised drafts as the AFL throw around draft picks like confetti are the most disturbing aspects.

Tarryn Thomas (who lived in Tassie for 3-4 years) will automatically become a native son of the apple isle.

Gutwein will even demand his mural.

No, and I think they deserve a team. Is it their fault? No however it’s a fact that any team who enters the league will get draft concessions.

That may or may not be the case.

I wouldn't expect that amount of concessions as we'd already be set up.

Are you talking about a relocated team? Because if you are talking about a team starting from scratch, then by definition, you are not set up and will require much more than one pick each round to build a list.

Surely they will start a team from scratch, they probably think they have the nucleus already, led by out of retirement Nick Riewoldt, Peter Hudson at full forward (surely he could still play most of a game), and perhaps Premier Gerkin on a half forward flank with his raking drop punts, couldn't go wrong!

Oh yeah sorry I misread.

Was talking financial and other concessions not the list itself.

Yes you and Luke are correct it would impact on the drafts significantly but it could still be done fairly.

The thing is I don’t think it can be done fairly. As bad as the recruiting was during the Scott/Joyce era they were some of the most compromised drafts ever. If you’re timing is out and you’re down at the wrong time, you’re left trying to rebuild with a deck stacked against you. This is not Tassie’s fault in any way but I don’t want to go through that again from a purely selfish point of view, at least not until we have reestablished the men’s team into a competitive unit.

Caroline Wilson's article is both funny and predictable. We say we are not interested in more than 4 games in Tasmaania and Kennett has not ruled out Hawthorn relocating to Tasmania and yet her article runs with "Tasmanian push may put focus on North Melbourne.

She knows the AFL has no power to force relocation and she states "In a turning point that has shifted the focus back onto North Melbourne – although the Kangaroos remain adamant they will never relocate." She can't help but to stick the boot in.

In bad news for Tasmania, she says a significant number of club chiefs are against expanding the competition to 19 teams in the wake of savage cuts to the game forced by the pandemic.

Hawthorn wont relocate either, Kennett will string them along and then screw them, at least we are being honest about where we stand.

Never ends. We are seen as a basket case by many after the last twelve months and I suppose a likely ordinary year on the oval won't help our cause. Yet it is predicted we will be virtually debt free this season so we are in a better position than many others. This is where we hope the club leaders can stand up strong and redirect the focus. Like us, I am sure they are sick and tired of this coming up every friggin year. We need to be competitive on the ground and get our membership up. Not a simple task but membership management this year has been pathetic. We need young members now. Get a kid as a member you will keep most of them for life. Why doesn't the club offer a deal to existing members to buy a junior membership to give to a kid, either through the huddle or partner with a charity. Lets be more proactive - membership is the key to strength. No debt - very nice and kudos to the club. But much more to achieve and I'd love to see a marketing plan - do we have one?

Not really. The only mention was 1 line that said we have links no intention to relocate.

Media relevance, if north is not in dire financial straits then something is wrong. It's like China isn't genocidibg every minute of waking life, so.wthibg is not right....according to Aussie mainstream.

I'd like to know how Tassie getting North's license is a more appealing outcome for the AFL.

They will lose ~40,000 supporters automatically, and will end up with a much bigger financial basket case in Tasmania.

Spot on, she's being "mischievous" with her articles.

Caroline Wilson’s Calculator must be on the blink. A close to debt free club ain’t relocating anywhere. She is a Moron. :stern look

Don't anyone misunderstand my view on this because I don't want to see any club re-located/merged. I know all too well what that feels like.

And for what it is worth I also strongly believe they deserve to have their own standalone club.

BUT

Why when people like Caroline Wilson talk relocation, why is it always us? Why not the Saints with their $13.8 million of debt? Surely the Saints should be judged as a basket case ahead of any other Victorian club.

And arguably if you look at this list they have a far greater connection to Tasmania than we do.

Everyone has an axe to grind somewhere. For Wilson, it's us.

For whatever reason, as our ex-president said, she wants us to fail so badly she can taste it.

It doesn't even annoy me anymore. It's so boring, so predictable, so obsessive and so illogical that no one, within NMFC or outside, takes any notice.
