Why tf do Aussie TV networks use pommie slappers & nancy boy poms to commentate sport.
There is no such thing as an attractive english person & that includes issa guha who might know the game, but surely we can get Aussies doing the job. Fair enough if we are playing the soap dodgers, but if not, give me a commentator from that country.
And then same thing with the horse racing.
No poms please.
It's not as if the ABC isn't short for Australia's British Channel already & even the commercial channels are polluting the airwaves with Pommel sh1t.

On SM-G960F using BigFooty.com mobile app
Isa buys and sells most of our male commentators. Knows the game better than most and puts the male commentators in their place.Gives as good as she gets.Vaughan, the Sath Afikan Piertesien are a bit like Dermie. hopelsess.

For a supposedly clever country and having smart people, it surely is being opened up now as dumb and not so smart.
things like dumbness, idiocy and stupidity can never ever be cured. It has just been proven.
Also mysogeny and racism will alwaays stop progresson both counts by this lamentable decission of their people.
I fear for them and the world.

Not sure if the politics sub still exists, but this should probably go there.

I am not sure how it doesn't fit. It is non AFL and is a general discussion point.
we have just had at least three pages of discusion about muscle buliding product.
But should the mods decide to move it, so be it.

How I used to imagine the Freo BF community.

How I imagine it after the last half-dozen pages.

I post on bigfooty between sets. Home PC is manipulated by my gaming teenage son, who thankfully is starting to decide he wants to look a bit more like your mates above and eat protein, lift weights and nail down Creatine.

I also recommend Tongkat Ali as a supplement for what it’s worth.

Unlike muscle building product this discussion is guaranteed to be a dumpster fire. There are a lot of people supporting each side. For what it's worth I think the Americans are not as dumb as you think.

Yeah, stupid Americans

Find it increasingly difficult to care about American politics, and I severely judge fellow Australians who engage in it without knowing the respective members for their area for all three levels of government. However if you do and still care about US politics... well you're probably boring as shit to have a beer with but at least you're a real Australian who cares about their community (left or right - it's up to you, but at least engage with where your vote is ultimately going).

Australian politics is in your sphere of influence, American politics absolutely isn't - and I wager you'll never actively feel the affects in a proper tangible way whoever the President is over there.

Tldr. You have no right to quote, or even care about US politics if you don't have a locked down stance on your local area.

I have never come across as Americans smart at all.

I think there dumb, naive and insular to anything that's happening outside of there own country.

Most of them never leave the country and think US is all that really matters and relevant in this world.

I watched a rocket return to earth. Approx the size of a 20 storey building, moving at over 3000kmh. But sure, the country that has created most of the technological advances in the last 30 years is dumb.

Voters in another country didn't agree with who people in Australia were told the correct choice was by our own version of media, whoopdeedoo. Fifteen to twenty million democrats didn't turn up to vote. Perhaps installing a candidate after the primary process, spitting in the face of their own party members, and then claiming to be the party protecting democracy was a bit too on the nose for their own.

Can we focus on the important stuff please??? Who is opening the batting end of the month?

Hows Beth Mooney dragging the Scorchers over the line in the big bash a couple of night ago??

Not to extend this discussion too much, which is a precarious one for a footy forum...but if anyone's at "fault" for the outcome yesterday it's the DNC. The utter incompetence in how they've managed the post-Biden transition is astounding.

I really think they believed they could cruise because 70 million people surely wouldn't vote for Trump again/their base would turnout regardless. Then they compounded their carelessness by deciding to run a decidedly unpopular candidate without any due process at the last minute. The Democrat party tagline should be "We've tried nothing and we're all out of ideas!"

Thank **** the cricket starts in 2 weeks.

just my humble opinion but i think people mostly vote on issues that effect themselves and look for answers

USA has been struggling with Inflation. loss of job. and lots of illegal immigrants

So they dont care about many of the bigger issues that affect the world or peoples personalities. they look for someone who speaks on those issues. Whether that person can fix those issues is another topic.

But promises to do something will get many votes . same as all over the world. So Trump promises to make changes . Harris when interviewed and asked what she would do different to what Biden did for 4 years "Nothing" that interview alone probably cost lots of votes. She should have distances herself from Biden and his policies , even if she agrees with them. and give her own policies clear and defined, telling people to not vote for the opposition just becuae they are a Bad person wont win a lot of elections.

But in the end Trump is president lets see where it all goes for next 4 yers

Maybe he likes Aussie rules and will build an oval or two :)

As always there was a lot lost in the Democrats' incoherent messaging. Biden's economic performance has arguably been fine. The unemployment rate his been steady since its post-COVID recovery. Inflation has been declining pretty consistently over the last couple of years and on top of that, most economic authorities have suggested the Republican tariff plan is itself, inflationary (if it's actually implemented of course, could just be rhetoric as you say). The illegal immigration issue is also a nice populist wedge given Homeland security estimates seem to show that there were more illegal immigrants living in the US back in the mid 00s.

The Trump fixation absolutely cost them though. Harris wasn't remotely popular enough to turn the election into a personality contest and they ran into the exact same problem as Whitlam against Fraser back in the day, convincing themselves that the 'ordinary American' was the same person they were seeing at their rallies. The will of the American people ultimately won out though, regardless of whether you like the outcome or not.

FWIW I've met many amazing US peeps on my travels and thoroughly enjoyed travelling through it. You meet some absolute pelicans and idiots, but imagine if someone assumed all Aussies were like the ones you found at Kuta Beach.

Anyways... Nathan McSweeney auditioning for the opening spot today. I hope he goes well!

Absolutely. Some quality people from that country, like everywhere else.

He's looking good so far (here comes the kiss of death)
