I don't know if many other gym posters will agree but... Eulogy by Tool is such a banger to psych you up pre-gym.

Raining Blood by Slayer obviously is the best for actual heavy lifting.
Have to agree on Raining Blood. It's on my Spotify daily play list rotation and always seems to come on right when I'm about to lift something reasonably heavy.

Was lucky enough to attend the Pearl Jam concert at Marvel Stadium tonight....was freakin awesome. Just wish they would come to Perth like the old days.

I was there as well. Incredible show. I was around 30m back. Cosmic Psychos were awesome as well. Pixies underwhelming to me, zero stage presence and charisma.

Sticking around for Monday as well. Expecting almost an entirely different setlist apart from a few classics they played yesterday.

Checking the gig guide, and it's not just PJ skipping Perth. I see that either this weekend or next there's The Saints, Dropkick Murphys, Custard, Cold Chisel, Hoodoo Gurus, The Angels, The Cult, plus many others playing in Melbourne, and I don't recall any of them except the Cult announcing Perth dates. Seems like this is worse now than before COVID? Feels like after WA closed the border, a lot of promoters/bands have just given us the middle finger as payback.

I don't know how much it costs to tear down the stage and relocate, but it has to be economical to play in front of 50k people at Optus and Adelaide Oval. They could be pulling 10 million revenue per show. I wonder if there were clashes with cricket at Optus and Adelaide Oval? And nowhere else suitable to play a big stadium show.

Does anyone here go hiking much? I've just recently discovered the trails out in Bedfordale and Byford, and now I often go for a walk through them before work in the mornings. Yesterday I caught up with an old mate and we did a 12km walk just south of Serpentine. It's been so good for my soul.

Not hiking but I've just got into trail running comps this year. Partly so I can explore parts of Perth I wouldn't normally get to.

Done Jarrahdale and Dwellingup so far. Jarrahdale was pretty cruisy but Dwellingup was pretty tough.

Next one on the calendar is Yanchep in December.
