Ellenbrook line cost $77.5m per kilometer. $1.651B/21.3km.

Ellenbrook total dwellings by 2021 cenus is 16,071.

= $102,700 per dwelling.

I'm happy we are pouring mining revenue into building the state but it might have been cheaper to give all the people who bought the cheaper house and land packages in Ellenbrook $50,000 to $100,000 to buy higher density closer to existing services.
Should tell that to the Political Vandal. Twenty years of promises from him and his bulldozer vandals.
In years to come it will be a master stroke, if it already isn't.

That's backwards logic. Building a new line brings new housing close to the line.

The train line is great and that they managed to complete it only a few short years after the road to Ellenbrook was sealed is an incredible feat.
Everyone picks on Ellenbrook. It's not that far. I went there last week. Just got back.

Did you pay your ransom, or manage to escape yourself?

Getting to Ellenbrook 20 years ago was ridiculous. Going all the way past bush land to Gnagara Road then unsealed roads. Took 40-50 minutes.
Now it’s straight though Tonkin, 20 mins. It’s pretty nice up there too.

Can see housing/development slowly reach Whiteman Park.
Around Wangara, Landsdale was nothing but bush and landfill. Now it’s 500k+ for a 3 by 2.

I try not to go North of about Trigg (which was literally the end of the Earth at one point).

Whenever I’m forced by circumstance to go any further I’m just agog at how much it’s all built up and seems to go on forever.

Ellenbrook I went once. Just a strange place.

It’s crazy

Remember West Coast Drive at Hillarys was the end point not even 2000. Bush land on the other side.
Now it goes all the way to Two Rocks with developments. Crazy.
Wish I brought land/home in Burns Beach/Iluka for 200k at the time.

If we’re going down the hindsight path I really wish I’d bought a crappy old house in South Freo in the 80’s/90’s.

I thought my mate was mad paying 80k for a small federation on a huge block on Lilly St. His first house there cost about 40k.

Mind you my rent at the time was around $40/week so not that surprising I was happy staying a renter.

The problem with politics talk here is some can't manage it without personal attacks.

Personally happy the line is through. Can we now stop with politics here?

Fair point.
Centre of Ellenbrook- the establishment of the first houses are still 2-3km away, the least from train station.
The newer housing got a jump on the 2018 announcement and have prime land/location next to the train station

Who schedules the cricket?

Why move the Brisbane Test match to occur during their wettest month?

Test match in Sydney is also consistently during their wettest month, with the State seemingly too proud of the history to care about the people who pay money to watch washed out days of nothing every year.

Even the AB Medal is on when the team will be in Sri Lanka?

Am I being too harsh or are these people brainless idiots?

Where did you get your stats from as that’s not what I have found / thought.

Sydney & Brisbane rain all year round during every month so it really is a lottery.

Brisbane average days rain
Nov - 6.5
Dec - 7.7
Jan - 8.5

Sydney average days rain
Nov - 8.3
Dec - 7.9
Jan - 8.6

Not sure why they changed the order around but it really is just luck of the draw.

Poor wording on my behalf. As shown by your stats, in the context of the Test summer, Sydney's rainiest month is January. Although I can see it's almost a case of splitting hairs
I'm just wrong about Brisbane though. Apparently has 10.1 rainy days in October so maybe not as dumb moving that Test as I thought.
