With the money in the AFL, I have no idea why there is not a roster with say 32 umps full time on 350k each. They'd get byes some weeks, some weeks 2 games.
They'd have a full time job Mon and Tuesday reviews and learnings, Wed Thurs off Fri-Sun could work 2 days. It'd be a great career path for the guys that didn't quite make AFL and would battle out a SANFL/VFL/ country footy life.
Goal umps and boundary umps are superfluous they can be on their current wage but if we need 4 umps, lets pay them well, lets make them full time and they can get decent money, 350k isn't to be sneezed at and guys could get in early 20s with a decent understanding of footy could do and have a decade or more at top flight.

We did beat Carlton at marvel remember. Not many games are guaranteed this year.

For some reason, we can beat Carlton (we actually have a winning record against them under Nicks) but we just can't beat Essendon.
We'll make them look like their 2000 team again.
Their uniform is RMs, they all wear them.
