David Noble is a Mark Neeld level coach.

Getting smashed by 70 each week is a coaching issue. Players not putting in AFL standard effort.

For reference their current percentage is 8 percentage points lower than us in 2020.

Very, very glad we didn't choose him
Noble is a Football Administrator, not a coach.

He held our club together when Walsh died, then fixed Brisbane.

Should be at North as Head of Football not coach.

Such bizarre decision making to choose him as a coach. Would only expect that of a minnow club. The guy clearly has a specific skill set and then they went and hired him over proper coaching candidates into a role he has limited experience.

It seems they were trying to copy the Chris Fagan route but didn't realise Fagan was actually a respected assistant coach just a few years prior to getting the Brisbane role

More teams need to sack their coach this year.

I think the Hardwick model has fooled a few clubs into thinking they can just wait it out and add a few assistants.
It's critical that GWS and North sack their coaches. Port should also be sacking Hinkley though I hope they don't. I also reckon Gold Coast should move on Dew and maybe even Simpson at West Coast is in the firing line.

Rutten is under the pump too

Not sure to be honest. Media has pumped them up well beyond what their squad is actually capable of. Their list isn't that good and they had a tough start to the season in terms of fixture, though they probably should have won 1 more game by now

They were fortunate in 2020 that we were horrid at the start of that season. New coach plus the pandemic.

We both ended up on the same number of wins but they beat us by 69 points, which given the large margin was the difference between us finishing bottom or them. If it had been say a 19 point win to them, we likely wouldn’t have finished bottom.

They have been putrid for 3 years now.

I reckon that loss was the game where nix bought back Gibbs, rat and knight.

He didn’t hold it together. Seriously, every single muppet we employed at the time has been credited with that. Campo, Fagan, Chappy, noble. It’s all shit, they all chipped in and got through it as a group. Tex would have been awesome, more important than any of the others individually.

simmo and Ken should get another crack. Maybe even Dew down the track. Noble and Cameron done as senior coaches.

Seems to be a feature in this industry. It's common to have really good assistants propping up a mediocre senior coach, and leadership at board level is either unable to identify this, or unable to act quickly enough to promote that person before they move on to greener pastures.

Why should Ken and not Cameron?
Both achieved the same in the same time.

If every coach was sacked today, this is what it'd be imo.

Would get a shot - Fagan, Voss, McCrae, Longmire, Mitchell, Goodwin, Hardwick, Longmuir, Simpson, Beveridge
Wouldn't get a shot - Dew, Noble
50/50 - Nicks, Rutten, Cameron, Scott, Hinckley, Ratten

cameron inherited a lot more talent than Ken. Each time Ken got talent they had to trade out players that had value. Ken's been a lot better than Cameron, it's his undeserved smugness that makes him a bit of a joke.

A man needs to know his limitations....

Simpson can actually coach, but needs a refresh at another club.

Yes but their list is now showing severe stress.

Older players who are regularly injured to boot.

Mind you it won’t stop us losing to them at Adelaide Oval.
Which is why it makes more sense for Simpson & Weagles to part ways as they are no longer in a premiership window & need a part rebuild.
