None of those 3 have played all games, especially Murphy. Why did you exclude Rachele?

How is not worth it? Having Stengle makes no difference to the success of our rebuild, so why does it matter?

Hopefully getting a wake up call like this early in his career means he doesn’t go down a similar path as Sam Fisher as well. I can’t imagine the clubs decision was purely about Stengle’s on field ability, they did try to help him get his life together off field as well and maybe all parties thought it was best he move on with a clean slate at a new club? I have no idea, none of us do.
Except for Murphy why haven’t they played all games?

We used 2 picks on Rowe for an inferior player and how does having good players help with a rebuild?

FFS, you are so far up the clubs arse you’re delusional

They've collectively played 24 games for 14 goals. Stengle has played 10 games for 20 goals.

Rachele didn't come in until a year after Stengle had been delisted. The other three were the ones we chose to go with when we cut Stengle loose.

Stengle is 23 years old.

There's a reason why we're having an ongoing spell down the bottom of the table and that's because we're getting too many decisions wrong.

Yes, notable goal kicker Lachlan Murphy.

You've lost this argument before it begun.

Fair to say this account is losing it and I’ll be unfollowing

Yep this guy has lost all credibility this week. Confirming this as a free kick, and saying the ball was knocked out in a tackle when a player clearly just drops it. Not any better than an average footy fan with an opinion.

I'm on the fence there. We can't really see if it's a closed fist or not, if it's a closed fist then by all means pay a free.

At best it's an open palm strike and unnecessary. You see 50 of those in a game. They probably shouldn't be a part of the game but it's rich to pick one out and not the others. At its core, it's still a strike.

I think about it a lot when we're getting a bad ride for the umps, or when you have umps just begging to pay 50's. Just don't give them the reason. Like a 50 I saw on the weekend where the player who got marked on pushed the opponent behind the mark, the opponent lost his footing and received a 50m penalty. Was is worth 50? The realist says probably not, but it was also unnecessary contact on a guy who'd taken a mark. Just don't do it. The umps at the moment want to pay everything they can, just don't give them a reason to do it.

It does however look like the dissent rule has coincided with more poor decisions in general, and a lot more trigger happiness from the umps.

Let’s stop beating around the bush. It was a soft decision by an umpire who is now part of a fraternity that is being told they’re such delicate geniuses that they can’t even handle arms being waved at them.

In isolation, it was not a howler, but in the context of everything else going on, it‘s infuriating.

This is a game for grown men, and the umpires are running around like daycare staff.

F**k off.

for a bit of fun, how many free kicks in the first 1/4 alone would be paid under today's rules in this all time classic

You'd assume the plan behind the dissent rule is to make the umpires feel more comfortable in their role and thus make better decisions. But maybe we're seeing that fear of remonstration was a good thing? Some of what they're paying at the moment almost seems like they're challenging the players to show dissent so that they can get their "paid 50 for dissent" moment in the sun.

Look at the state of their list, I doubt it.
6m ago, everyone was saying how great their recruiting was and how good the midfield will be...

Thomas, JHF, Powell, Philips, Simpkin, Stephenson, LDU, Taylor, Goater, Ford, Anderson, Greenwood

That looks a great list of players to me, it doesn't appear to be a problem with the recruiting team.

Their development is very poor, yes they're debt free but at what cost ??

They've gutted their coaching and development ranks, gone bargain basement replacement options. No crowds, very few decent sponsors... And no real signs of improvement
