Update: doc said 'probably wouldn't let them back on without a test, but they also have access to more camera angles to help make the call.'
Not to disparage your friend but why does a camera angle matter ?

Damage is damage and insensibility is standard symptom . Sure Jonas got up in a fairly reasonable matter of time but he hit the ground knocked out

And they lost anyway :)

So cop all the scrutiny with no benefit gained
Once again Port pull a sub at 3/4 time despite no medical need. You'd think this will be questioned (again).

Having already used the sub, two blokes hit heads and suddenly Port have no sub available for concussion (the reason the sub exists). With no sub available, they decide NOT to test the players for concussion (minimum 10 minutes required), but rather to put them back on the field.

Hinkley then gets upset at being questioned. WORST of all, he then suggests that his players are 'tough' and in doing so, suggests that's why they didn't get concussion. WTF??!!

If the AFL have any balls at all, or actually care about concussion, they will be going ballistic over this. Everything Port did on the night is against protocols and Hinkley's comments go against every statement and 'learning' about concussion.

They should be absolutely whacked over it.

They won't be, but if it had been us, with the same history, we'd have doctors, coaches, players etc suspended. We'd have lost draft picks and copped huge fines. It would be used as a statement by the AFL to set an example that they take concussion seriously.

So clearly players like John Platten weren't tough enough players as they are no experiencing memory issues and headaches after their playing days.

Less than 22k at last night's game.

The AFL just assumed people would roll up in droves this year now that crowds are allowed back. Never mind the convenience of Kayo, the appalling rule changes and umpiring (and subsequent gaslighting), or the lack of affordability at a time when we're heading into a bigger recession than the GFC.

I hope they are shitting bricks.

Not going to lie, I was hoping covid would kill the league outright.

Swept it straight under the rug. They are terrified of a concussion lawsuit

Surely the AFL should investigate to save themselves from a future suit when these Port players have issues and they go to sue Port but they've been signed off by the AFL.

Wouldn’t the afl just palm it off on 2 doctors that cleared them?

They probably will still investigate but behind closed doors.

The dream of the AFL as it currently exists folding and being taken over by, or being recreated by, a mogul/conglomerate and turned in to a 12-team genuine national "super league" remains alive.

In a surprise to no one, Chris Davies very defensive and aggressive talking about concussion protocols last night
Rowey backing him 100%. Pushing the players had a cut, doesn't mean its concussion line

Plus there is no query on their selections with no ruckman and whether that cost them the game
