Up until a few months ago, Norwood would've been the logical choice.

But they've been stripped of 2 AFLW matches (plus an AFLW trial) in recent months. Not sure if the AFL will be willing to look on them favourably for a little while.

Didn't get stripped of it, they offered it up. If you had seen the state of the mud on the ground you would know why.

Yeah I'm member 3759 joined in 2002.

I was working overseas a lot in Africa and the South Pacific, and my home base in Australia has been Perth since the mid 90's. All three places didn't have much by way of Crows news back then :p. Big Footy had some great contributors who gave reports, inside stories and rumours, attended training etc.

I also used to stream 5AA game broadcasts when I lived in Uganda. One day they asked if listeners from around the world would dial in, so I called them from Kampala after a game and spoke with Rowey. Stiffy_18 who was a great member (see above comments) gave me a shout out on the forum as he'd listened to the broadcast.

A lot less measuring of appendages took place back then too where each thread had quality content and you could click into a thread and know that it contained information that resembled the thread title.

A lot like the AFL Media, BF has become quantity over quality, but I am still here most days to kill time.

That’s due to the state of the ground isn’t it with all the rain? When’s this round being played?

I remember when us sacking Sando was described as harsh given he'd taken us to finals 2 years prior and we had a weak list.

But also he was just a poor coach and sacking him was the right move.

I don't think St Kilda will regret it
One Flag (fluke) says history rinses & repeats .....unless you wipe the place out & start again

When your culture is like that .....trust me, there's no dinking around the edges

St Kilda will simply continue the norm ...whilst giving the appearances of changing .....it really doesn't matter who is Coach, and their rot absolutely starts at the head ....what a laughable President

St Kilda have a habit of doing this. It's always the coaches fault.

They are a debt ridden rabble and the AFL should grow a pair, fold them and send the license to Tassie.
Changing home grounds every 5 years .....racking up debt, and shrugging their shoulders at another Coach payout ....knowing the AFL will not allow them to go under

FFS .....start letting some of these AFL Clubs fold .....the dream of a "PROFESSIONAL" AFL is just that .....a Dream

Wasn't there a "jenny" who posted prolifically on that forum?
I can’t recall too much about it except that I think Stiffy 18 was also on it. I do recall vividly how when Blighty came in and sacked McGuinness, McDermott and A Jarman that almost everyone thought we were doomed for years! I posted that we had talent coming through, Blighty knew what he was doing, and success wasn’t too far away… prophetic.
I also recall being called out by some posters here for saying that I was a Big Footy forum member back in 1997 and they correctly, but quite rudely pointed out that BigFooty didn’t exist then. It was the old Crows fan forum. Whilst I’m happy to admit I was wrong, I was not on Big Footy in ‘97, the abuse from some members was pretty extreme. Sadly personal attacks have become far more prevalent on the forum over the years.

Port moving Williams to the rookie list shows they're smart enough to know that if you want to indulge in the sunk cost fallacy, you should try to make it as cheap as possible. Dude probably would have got another 2 years on the senior list if it was Adelaide.

I'm surprised by the re-rookie of Williams, I didn't think he had shown anything at all. I'd have given Fredericks the lifeline well ahead of him.

They have Pick 33 plus change, wonder if they are looking at one or two DFAs?

I remember the Crows chat forum! I was on that too but didn't join BigFooty until early 2002.

There was always some great rumours on there back in the day.

I always wondered whether there was too much info being posted on there and was getting too hard to control so they pulled the pin on it.

Just wondering if Marty Frederick broke into dance similar to goal celebration in the showdown after being delisted today?

Can we try and not poke fun out of a player who's just been delisted?

Especially when it comes to Frederick boys as they're good friends of my son, so yes I'm biased!!!!

My feeling is that it was getting too hard, i.e. too time consuming, to moderate, maybe because of the amount of people increasing as internet use grew. You could also be right. I remember being very upset when it closed, as it was good fun.

I also think that it becomes difficult when the “fans forum” contains material critical of coaches, players and the club, and is being run by the club. There becomes a real conflict of interest.

And yes, there was a lot of noise, for example, about those player sackings especially Tony McGuinness.

You just made me recall, I was an IiNet customer when they operated out of a shed here in Perth. And back then would have been using a dial up modem that screeched as you connected at Glacial internet speeds.
Far better technology now!

The internet going mainstream kind of ruined it. I knew it was all over when the boomers discovered facebook.
