I don’t get it?

JHF gets suspended for incorrect attitude towards a cold bath (ice bath)
Kingy has ploppy pants because JHF prefers to wear teal now.
Ice Bath the horse wins its first group one race yesterday.
Kingy takes the opportunity to have a passive swipe at JHF on the Twitters.

Not hilarious but got a wry smile out of me.

Just shows what a flog Kane is to bring up the trade and try and rub it in even more. Sounds like a bit of a nasty condition so he should be hoping he makes a full recovery and hopes he doesn’t turn into a flop.

Fair effort to even play by the sounds of it. I had compartment syndrome in my calves and couldn’t walk more than a few holes of golf or even play 2 round events in a buggy.

Makes me wonder whether with that diagnosed issue, he had advice from elsewhere regarding ice baths. Whilst I needed to ice the calves in order to reduce the muscle so the veins weren’t restricted, I wouldn’t have thought doing the same to the areas starved of blood would be helpful.

I don’t have any medical info to back that up, but surely there’s a chance that he’d arrived at the club with advice of how best to recover and manage his physical issue. And perhaps it didn’t align with the ‘1 in all in’ ethos that often reigns in team environments.

Haha, I had no idea as don't follow the horses.

Going to be fun watching these 2 absolute wallies exchange barbs in the upcoming years.

If JHF's injuries become an ongoing issue, it just might turn out that one of our best ever trades, was the one that North turned down.
From an opportunity cost, it's already looking that way.

I wonder if Port knew of this and the full extent before the trade?

Then you weigh up the picks they sacrificed and the careers they have, they already starting pretty far back when you start the comparisons and couple this with JHF's injury and potential short and long term future.

Port will also be cautious with JHF too. Generally speaking preseasons that are interrupted does not augur well for a player the following year.

Port Adelaide’s prized recruit Jason Horne-Francis has undergone surgery on both legs after experiencing “debilitating pain” in his calves and feet this year.

“Our subsequent investigation revealed he had significant compression of the arteries in the back of his knees, causing blockage to the blood flow to his lower legs.”

You would hope Port did their due diligence.

Imo, JHF will be a solid player for them, but not sure he will be an absolute gun player.

When I heard the offer we made to North last year wasn't accepted I was relieved as it was too much.

Port have got him for better value though.

What injuries has he got?..sorry i am a johnny come lately to all this

Edit just read grotto's post
Dont worry I didnt know it was of this magnitude until just now.

Its a lot of pressure to place on top of already the pressure of delivering for Port and also being the prized number 1 pick.

If those injuries are shin stress fractures that are also causing calf soreness (I suffered from stress fractures to the shin and had calf injuries until I stopped playing sport), they are a shit to have to deal with- although unlike me, JHF will have access to the best medical teams and recovery going so will be best placed to get over his injuries

Only time will tell on this one.

However JHF may have given the Crows the greatest gift by not even giving us a chance to get him not to mention North too last year by rejecting our offer.

The Hurt Locker banner on the top of this thread is still relevant.

Sorry to hear that you've experienced this.:(

It makes him rejecting the ice baths earlier this year as kind of real stupid in hindsight. In terms of not doing everything to be in the best shape possible not only for the team but himself and his future.

The debilitating pain is pretty big issue. Pain can be subjective in nature, but if its JHF describing this pain its a worrying sign for a young kid already with the weight of expectation placed on him.

The VFL media will be salivating to tear him apart. Definitely has taken a lot of focus of Rankine.

Absolutely would not want any kid to suffer chronic leg injuries..it can kill the dream it really can

I am sure JHF will be ok, as mentioned he will have the very best medical treatment available and Port will not take risks with him surely after what they gave up to get him

Its an interesting scenario here, as Ken obviously keen on him and if fit and healthy would have had an immediate impact.

Port will look after him and wont take any risks whatsoever especially given what they paid, but it does effect Ken's coaching career in 2023.

At the end of the day with JHF - we just need to console ourselves that we ended up getting Rachele, Dawson and Rankine for what it would have cost to get JHF.

Im completely OK with that but we desperately need to draft/trade in a gun mid badly.

Again, you’re off on some tangent.

Rewind - you said the coaches have denied they did what they’ve been accused of. I’ll ask again. If this is the case and the coaches did not do what they’ve been accused of, why would three players collaborate to accuse them of such serious actions? It’s a simple question.

I'd probably start at Money as a good motivator. Then maybe relevance and/or revenge.

Heard Kochie on AA this morning saying their AFLW team has the highest home ground attendance of any team in the league. But he went onto say ''they play the Port Adelaide way''. What is the Port Adelaide way?
