But… Werent we told by Gill at the press conference he held the day the ABC story broke that the revelations in that story went a lot further than what they had uncovered in the Hawthorn report that they had yet to release?…

And it was those new revelations that Clarkson et al had claimed were untrue..
Not that I recall... but I try to ignore Gill the Dill as much as possible, so it's quite possible I may have missed his latest lies.

Surprised Oleg Markov was delisted today. I don't watch GC regularly (I'm not a sadist), but thought he was tracking pretty well.

Yeah 100%. I remember him in his first half dozen games for GC and thinking he was a great pickup. Wonder where it went off the rails for him?

I find it interesting that Ross's bio says Former AFL coach so early into his new gig.

Yet another example of everything the AFL touches turning into a complete shambles and ending up nothing more than an arse covering exercise.

No wonder the Clarkson/hawthorn scandal accussors dont want a bar of the AFL’s “independant” investigation. You’d have to be a fcckn idiot to put your trust in that.

With concussion.. its clear the AFL couldnt really give a toss, its all about them looking like they care and are doing something..

If they cared then port adelaide wouldve been absolutely smashed for sending Butters and the other guy (cant remember who it was) back on the field no more than 5 minutes after a massive head clash this year..

If the AFL cared they’d have already stepped in and said to seedsman.. “sorry mate, its all over, we cannot let you continue to play.. the risk is too great” and found him an off field role they can re-train him into..

The Circus rolls on…
Spot on. All the AFL cares about is their image. They talk a big game when the camera is in their face, but when they have the opportunity to take action they are nowhere to be seen.

There shouldnt be a Tassie team unless there is also a NT team..

And those two new teams should be created after 4 of the victorian teams are sent to the VFL..

Too many Victorian teams.. first thing that needs to be done above all else is to get rid of 4 of them.. give them the opportunity to relocate to tas or nt.. if they refuse… take their licence off them.
This.

Nth Melbourne merge with hawthorn, relocate to Tasmania
St Kilda merge with Gold Coast, imagine the parties...
Bulldogs merge with GWS
Essendon merge with Geelong, or alternatively are relegated to the VFL.

14 team comp, Preseason games scrapped and a 26 game main season - everyone plays twice.

Job done.

Agree we should reduce the teams to allow for proper home & away... by removing the weaker Melbourne teams.

Could have bigger squads, proper reserves competition... & more games per season by having a maximum game cap on players so they are rested. No byes needed.

The ingredients are there for a far superior AFL competition, unfortunately the VFL will not agree to your suggestions.

By culling the Victorian teams you will end up with a game that would be IMO far superior to any sport.

Hawthorn is the only team East of Melbourne(Richmond is very, very inner East). I don't know if Geelong being the only team West of the MCG would be healthy either. St kilda and Nth are the obvious outs. If SA and WA have 2 teams each, 8 in Vic is probably about right. It's 2 teams in Qld and NSW that causes the biggest problems and such unstable player movement every year. It's GCS and GWS that have to go imo. I don't see them having a big enough supporter base or home grown player pool for decades.

Jared Petrenko charged with a domestic violence assault against his former partner or child (this bit confuses me in the headline). I assume it must be the same partner that was on The Block with him a couple of years ago.

Then I wonder why players would collaborate to fabricate such damaging accusations. For what reason?

Why do you think they’ve collaborated? Bit of a conspiracy theorist are you? There’s no doubt that there is truth to the extent that the coaches influenced, or attempted to influence, certain behaviours. Was it as extreme as virtual kidnapping? Was it out of the blue with no prior engagement with the player regarding problematic relationships? That you are prepared to act against the coaches based solely upon one sided accusations, largely from partners, suggests you haven’t the faintest idea about the principles of natural justice and due process.

Effectively you’re keen to see police lock people up based upon nothing other than an accusation by another party. No investigation themselves and certainly no actual trial where the accused has the opportunity to face their accusers. You’d do well in North Korea, they rock a similar justice system. Although I think the penalties are often a touch more severe.

And..

If there is a “their side to the story” that they are so keen to tell and they believe they have done absolutely nothing wrong..

Then why havent they told it already?..

Why didnt they, when they were offered a right of reply in the days before the ABC story broke, simply meet with the Journalist and tell it?.. they have nothing at all to hide right?..

But no… they’ve constantly said nothing more than “its not true and we want to tell our side”.. but then… not told their side.

Because they want to tell their side in an “independant” AFL run investigation held behind closed doors where everyone involved has been made to sign confidentiality agreements!.. and the outcomes of which can be cherry picked and presented, at a later date, to the public by the AFL with all the bad bits redacted under the guise of “confidentiality”…

The AFL then can make some secret payments to the accusers, tell the public that it was a big miss understanding and everyone has hugged, kissed and made up and sweep the entire sordid affair under the carpet with the rest of their fxxk ups..

Hey presto.. the leagues greatest coach is back and everyone’s happy!..

They can’t tell it because they’d be breaching confidentiality between themselves and the employee. Hypothetically, what if Clarko has dozens of texts from player A saying that the missus is insane, she has her mates around partying non-stop etc etc. Note that wouldn’t be much of a defence against the accusation at their present extent, but playing his defence out in public is absolutely what he shouldn’t be doing.

if these accusations are untrue as Clarkson et al are claiming… and you are Clarkson.. you’d be telling the AFL to jump and you’d be getting a legal team together and launching massive defamation claims against the ABC and the accussers.

Why tell AFL to jump, there’s no need to go into battle with them. And their rights regarding defamation aren’t reduced by being a part of the AFL investigation. There’s really no need to go on full attack right now, they’re about to be coaching again and have plenty of time to exercise other rights.

You couldn’t be more spectacular at misinterpreting a post if you tried.

Take a ****ing Bex and have a good lie down.

You’re funny. I’m guessing you’re posting from pure emotion. You’re obviously ignorant of the functional impacts of what you’re suggesting. Anyway, you’re not alone, there’s a lot of judicial ignorance around the place.

Again, you’re off on some tangent.

Rewind - you said the coaches have denied they did what they’ve been accused of. I’ll ask again. If this is the case and the coaches did not do what they’ve been accused of, why would three players collaborate to accuse them of such serious actions? It’s a simple question.

Yeah... nah. It's quite understandable that they wouldn't want to have anything to do with any AFL investigation, because they simply don't trust the AFL not to produce a report in it's own self interest - and ****ing over the victims.

They are quite happy to participate in an independent investigation, provided it doesn't answer to (or influenced by) the AFL.

That’s the sort of basement dwelling nonsense that appeals superficially to the lazy, dim and aspirationally righteous

So, was Rawlings comments about having the full story regarding JHF and why they traded him, related to his injuries?
It sounds like a fixable issue, but leg pain is not great for young player you've just given a long term deal to.

Going to be interesting to see how it pans out.

Still seems like an excuse to justify his bad deal
