Unless Port win the flag, I think they will go for Hardwick if they havent done so already.

How many times over Ken's coaching tenure have Port won multiple flags in May to August? Many times of course, but the story always ends the same.
The AFL won't let Port pay $1.5m a year for a coach.

They made them promote from within for their CEO.

Plus internally they love him. The Port PR machine are doing their best to change public opinion. Cos Cardone, Port Board media making sure all Crocmedia minions toe the Company Line.

Ken or Josh Carr are their choices. Carr could end up at Richmond....

From what I've read, no-compete clauses can be very difficult to enforce. Especially when the person has quit and is not being paid. It can be done at the higher / executive levels more so than at the lower levels, and the higher level is surely where a coach sits; but as I said, difficult to enforce. Especially, perhaps, when "coaching an AFL club" is ruled out.

Yes, it stands out when you look at that number. Possibly a career coach would be up for taking over another team, but not so much if they're starting at or near the botttom. A contender or near-contender, maybe. Depends on what Hardwick feels about "the challenge". I don't know how many coaches have gone on for more than 13 years, even at different clubs.
Hawrdwick will coach again. He seems to be that career coach. Has been in the coaching system his entire post plsying career. And hates the media.

I don't think Buckley will coach again. He got to coach the club he loves. But didn't do much of a coaching apprenticeship.Has done media work before then and now after.
And is one of the best media performers.

Oh my, imagine if they re-sign Hinkley with Hardwick available then Carr leaves to coach Richmond (or another club)

The meltdown would be next level

Ken will get extended. He has that Finals clause. Just like his extension in 2020.

If he is any good, Carr won't stick around to maybe take Port over in 2026.

I can see Buckley coaching again just not at a big Melbourne club. Maybe a brisbane when Fagan finishes.

Time for a feel good story for Crows supporters today.......:rainbow:

“It’s fast-tracked (Port) to make a call,” he said on Channel 9’s Footy Classified.

“They may have to make the call quickly. Ken Hinkley is the best coach available right now, he is out contract and Richmond should be picking up the phone and offering him a four-year contract very soon.

This is all setting up beautifully for Hinkley.

No doubt Blucher will be going to Port and telling them that Ken has deals on the table from Gold Coast and Richmond to see if Port jump. Given how Port are traveling at the moment would Port really be willing to let Ken go at this point?

Hinkley and his manager Peter Blucher are masters when it comes to being able to pull at Kochie's marionette strings and getting him to dance. I honestly think we're not too far away from it happening once again.

I personally think the "demand" for Ken is more a Port fabrication than Blucher (his manager) shopping him around to get Ken re-signed.

Blucher has already secured his client's future at Port through out negotiating Kochie with his Finals extension clause. So why shop him around?

Port however need to show their supporters Ken is in demand, and better keep him as others want him. Crocmedia Crew in full swing pointing out Ken is in demand.

Like the toy a kid discards, buts the kid wants it back as soon as he thinks another kid wants it.

Ports PR machine think their supporters are that kid.

Hey Tealsters, our coach is in demand we better secure him quickly.

Did Cos Cardone write that script?

“Don’t forget that this decision to delay talks about extending Ken’s contract was made before the start of the season between Ken and I,” the Port chairman and Sunrise host said.

“(Hinkley) agreed to it because we wanted no distractions this year for our football group achieving the most success that they possibly can

I'm not sure how having your coach's future in limbo throughout the season is a "no distractions" approach - especially when the coaching merry-go-round speculation starts up in the second half of the season - well, after round 10, as it happens.

BS it was about "no distractions". It was about "perform or you're out".

Port love being the victim through their own doing with off field issues, I can see Kenny applying the heat for a contract extension at the start of August.

They will likely end the season with around 15wins and with that comes a double chance.

Port will either have to resign him before finals or risk derailing their finals campaign. Perfect Storm looms.:rainbow:

Because it is a simple equation.

Finish 1 to 8. Ken is re-signed.
Finish 9 to 18. Ken is not re-signed.

All parties inside the club know this, and very little media pressure against Ken.

Tredrea called them out, and has been further ostracised.
