Jack Riewoldt the only one talking sense on the Danger tackle

Buckley reckons he's OK because Walsh is still playing

(Watching on Kayo not 7)

But everyone said Reid had to go, despite Wilson still playing...
Let's wait and see.

The cynic in me is fully aware that Dangerfield...
1. plays for Geelong and not WC; and
2. has been one of the protected gods for years; and
3. has avoided sanction time and time again from infringements that others get suspended for etc.

I have my expectations, but let's wait and see.

Edit - one match offered.
How is it not the same grade as Harley?
Will Geelong appeal?
Will he get off?
All this and more will be answered in the next thrilling installment of 'what will he get' lotto.

You would expect the umpire that paid 50 metres for holland just then for Stewart running over the mark to be sacked considering we were told the decision not to award north a 50 last week was correct..

I love how stuff like that happens. Bullshit response from AFL, happens soon after in a following game and is paid and crickets from all and sundry.

Geelong 2024
7-0

North 2016
10-1

Both aging sides that started fast before it all fell apart and limped through the rest of the year

Few similarities to those teams, let's hope Geelong is in for the same next few years that the Roos did

They're cooked. I could see them going down the Bombers route. Meandering around mid table for a decade or so. Protected from bottoming due to their home ground advantage and lack of travel, but unable to get top end talent to move up.

I hope so but they have an uncanny and very annoying habit of bouncing back rather quickly. Only missed finals 3 times in the last 20 years

The west have got an article up on the Danger tackle.
Had a bit of a giggle at the name of the writer...

It was on the front page of news.com.au also.

Hopefully this will get some traction and not swept away like the Maynard one.

Maynard got lucky in that the North players head didn’t hit the ground

Dangerfield doesn’t have that out as Walsh’s hit did hit the ground and did so quite forcefully. His main defence will be that it was one action and that it could be argued natural momentum contributed to Walsh hitting the ground

Alternatively, Dangerfield carried Walsh forward and drove him head first into the ground with both arms pinned

Give him a month off

Unless they can find a Dangerfield type calibre of player to build around and reload on the run again, they are in for a world of hurt this time.

Hawkins cooked and a number of other players 30+ too

Buckley needs to go back a couple of weeks to the Harley tackle. The fact that Wilson played on and had no injury at all had no effect on the penalty.
