I’m frankly terrified at the prospect of losing to a Lyon coached Saints in Rd 1.

I lost my mind when we lost to St Kilda this year. Was one of the worst games I have witnessed, I thought it was setting our season up for failure.

Especially after that 1pt win against Adelaide.

I'd hate to lose to them in Round 1. Their fans are such flogs.

Same. That was my biggest ever melt on this board after that game.

Edit - We’ll win by scoring 60 points ….

Love it!
We have to admit, as a marketing manoeuvre, an up and coming Freo against RTB in his coaching comeback game at the helm of the club that he crapped on to join Freo - wow! Can't wait for Freo's best season opener - ever?

Saints losses burn more than any other in my mind. Memories burned into my brain of Zac Clarke being pointed at the scoreboard by smug Saints forwards in their goalsquare, Sirengate amongst a few. The loss this year opened old wounds.

It could have been if they played it here

Respectfully ladies and gents, losing to Carlton and Wet Toast is the absolute pits for me.
Agreed.

Beating Carlton feels like smashing a forearm into the back of their heads like Patrick Cripps does.

Meh wouldn't be good but at least it would be against someone that at least knows what they are doing coaching not with Alan Rickman or the Mad Magazine guy in charge.

Carlton have one of the best lists in the AFL , if they get their shit together we are in trouble.

Brisbane is another one, crazy list in 2023, they would have to be a lock for top two.

Freo have as much potential as anyone. We missed Fyfe and were led by a couple
of kids in Brayshaw and Serong.
Added Jackson, O’Meara to that midfield so that’s 3 quality players.
How many first round picks are in the team?
It won’t be a lack of talent that holds us back.
If we play a quicker ball movement to the forwards, ie Pies, teams will get blown
off the park at the bigger grounds.
Ironically I think it was only Collingwood that we played twice, and lost both games?
Our window is open regardless for at least 5 years, and the loss of Mundy, Walters
and Fyfe.
That midfield is insane when you add Erasmus and Johnson.
Only doubts are the forward line and even that has been addressed.
That combination of speed, power, add more menace and I’m looking forward
to the hunt.

Ross Lyon getting another gig will be interesting? He’d do well in following Sydney’s
transition.
But does he rule with his heart or head?
Same with Simpson, both of these clubs will be the most interesting to watch.
The changing of the rules left these guys lost, and both don’t know much about
rebuilds.
