To be fair, having played Melbourne is part of the reason they're not top 8.

I agree - but it was the same with us. We’ve now beaten 2 out of the 3 top 8 sides we’ve played. As the season goes on, dropping one game to Melbourne means less and less as it becomes the body of work. They’ve beaten (off the top of my head) Port, GC, GWS, Essendon, WB, Hawthorn and I think Richmond. They’ve left Melbourne once. Our ‘who have they beaten’ (until yesterday) is more impressive than their record so far.
Not suggesting for a second that we are on their level, but I think we’ve been the better performed team over the season so far.
By the time we play them, they’ll still only have had one game out of Vic, while we’ll be on our 4th trip out of WA. 3 from 3 away so far, I reckon we’ll be 3 from 4 as I doubt we’ll beat them on their home deck off their pretty cushy draw, but I still believe we have had as good, if not better, a season than them so far.
IMHO.

I on the other hand think this is an astute decision. He deserves to be kept on for the next couple of years where he has the chance to make a real difference given all those draft picks in store.

My gripe is with Adam Simpson. What more has Suma got to do to get his chance at the main gig?! He's been studying what the good teams are doing and would make some slight changes.
