Is this a dodgy disposal thing? Apart from that I don't see much similarity.
Yep. I can’t get past how ugly Erasmus kicking was last year at peel. I’m not exaggerating to say it was horrific.
I do think he’s a lot more abrasive and tigerish and dynamic than Robertson besides that, but he’s an even worse kick.
**** me I hope we see some improvement from his kicking at peel tomorrow compared to last year.
You won’t last long in the modern game if you can’t kick the ball properly

Why'd we blow a top 10 pick on a dodgy user of the ball? Surely not.

He's also a fair bit bigger than Robertson and a decent mark. But yeah he needs to clean up his field kicking.

He’s got all the other tools - that’s why we took him at 10 I guess.
Problem with fitting a bad kick into your midfield rotation is everyone else needs to be a quality user by foot to compensate. Serong and Brayshaw are not great/ok by foot. Johnson does look silky but early days yet.
Ideally Neil improves his kicking in a similar way to how Clayton Oliver did and then we will have a player on our hands.

Saw a lot of Johnson at Subi. Will be a star.

Pete was such a freak, and now these two boys. The genetics versus environment debate is over, it's the genes

Not at all, we would need to adopt one out from birth to test that.

Too late now though, a wasted opportunity for science.

I have a sinking feeling that Neil Erasmus is a Deven Robertson type… I really hope I’m wrong but I guess time will tell.

I remember watching Erasmus' draft vids after we picked him and thinking they were some of the most uninspiring highlights I'd ever seen for a high draftee.

I figured since he was so highly rated and an inside mid that he mustn't be the sort of player that highlights do justice to, but I can't say I've been overly enthused by much I've seen since then either.

He is a good size and can find the ball. Ok so disposal may be an issue, but one would think he’ll make an impact at AFL level eventually just as Brodie did last year.

Nope. None of note.

Sad.... Huge advantage to get one.

Although the eagles only had waterman/s.

I would have thought they would have at least a couple of champions. The Judd kids are athletic, although I wonder if they would choose Carlton. Would be amusing.

Port for some reason have quite a few potential father/son picks coming up. Someone posted the list on Reddit a couple of days ago and I think we are the only team other than the 2 expansion teams without a father/son prospect over the next 3 years.

I've got a feeling Banfield has good genetics. Maybe Jlo and Bell are thinking about the long term future of the club to get him to 100 games.
