There might still be some small stuff, but if the unmentionable trades go through, along with our 2-3 upgrades, I don't see us having all that much room left to still participate adequately in the draft.

If Griffin goes we have 7 senior listed players departing - Goodwin (HBF), McLeod (HBF), Edwards (Mid), Burton (MF), Hentschel (KPF), Jacky (OC), Griffin (Ruck)

Unmentionable 1J + Unmentionable 2W + Henderson + Schmidt leaves us with 3 draft picks, plus Jaensch is 2 draft picks, or 4 and 3 if Sellar goes the other way.

If Unmentionable 2W falls through with adequate time left in the week to negotiate, something like Thomas from North might still be on the cards, unless he has extended already?

Either way, all the genuine guns across the league have already been accounted for, save a certain undeclared Cat.

There's actually 8 players gone if Griffin goes - you overlooked Bock. :D

However 2 of these came off of our veterans list, and we only have Doughty to go on . This limits the vacancies to be filled back to 7.

If 2 players from another club are traded in, that leaves 5 spots, so if we promote 3 rookies it only leaves 2 spots in the draft.

As you said, if Sellar is traded out, then that would leave 3 spots to fill.

That might just be all the drafting we do do, or do people think we might try and trade one of Myke Cook/ Armstrong/ Petrenko out to get another pick??

Sadly, up until the last few days there hadn't been any interesting stuff - just the exact same stuff we get every year, some wishful thinking about Vic/WA based SA natives that starts to develop a little bit of run before being brutally shot down with a flat no or a contract extension; our shattered dreams of Shannon Hurn drilling the ball 60 metres from the back pocket for Bryce Gibbs to mark under pressure just the defensive side of centre, who then wheels around and goes on a dazzling run before dropping a lace out pass into the big hands of Matthew Pavlich in the goal square. Oh, woe are we :(

Now, given these recent events, and the fact that everyone is now under contract except Griffin, and only he has indicated a desire to leave the club during trade week, there's not much more room for further activity.

If North and Essendon didn't want to much for them i'd be okay with them. They would fill a need and have an immediate impact.

Meh. The two Davey boys were both playing for equally shithouse teams the last few seasons.

At the Demons, Aaron stuck out like dogs balls, so ridiculously better than nearly everyone in the team, forward, back and in the midfield, despite the lack of support.

At the Bombers, Alwyn, well, he was just as shithouse as everyone else.

Plus, he turns 27 early next season - better off sticking with Jaensch up forward, and hoping we draft a midfielder this year who can come into the side as a forward pocket with immediate impact. At least that way we still have the possibility of that player and Jaensch working up into the midfield rotations, whereas Alwyn would just be four years of forward pocket followed by SANFL relegation and retirement.

I think we should have a crack at Tambling if he is on the market. Would anyone object to giving our Bock pick to obtain him.

Yeah, depends on whether we get the aforementioned, unmentionable 2W as i think NTRabbit tagged him. If Tambling is uncontracted we might offer our third rounder, but yeah I would be in favour of that but no more than the Bock pick.

Don't get sucked into Tambling talk, he isn't going anywhere and we don't want him.

I guess this thread will be directed mainly at Griffin, also lok for a couple of rookies.
