Yep, we're looking to be active.

I think the same thing happened last year. The club was looking to play down expectations because they knew they were going into trade week without many attractive options. The massaging of the message works both ways, but I think that point goes over our heads sometimes.

Don't get sucked into Tambling talk, he isn't going anywhere and we don't want him.
I guess this thread will be directed mainly at Griffin, also lok for a couple of rookies.

Not so, Wall-e.

From the right people - we have been having a red hot crack at Tambling.

The club rates it at 50-50 whether we get him or not.

Depends on the price. I certainly wouldn't be willing to give up a 1st round selection for him - and that includes the Bock compensation pick. I'd be willing to trade Cook or Petrenko for him though.

id rather trade cook than petrenko... i rate the kid.

cook not so much. if vic clubs want him, they can have him provided a reasonable deal can be done IMO. now that it seem that the jacobs deal is as good as done, a draft pick may need to be thrown in there, but certainly not a particularly high one

I see petrenko being quite a good rebounding defender... you only have to look at the 3 seconds it took the hawks to tag him when he was shifted back there to see just how damaging he was...

now we just have to get neil craig to actually play him there, and not use the usual line about the club seeing him has a back pocket but never playing him there...

Petrenko is also a highly rated individual at the club in the playing group and with staff.

Either way, as I said before, Tambling's body is stuffed. Would make sure our doctors give him an honest assessment before we traded a nickel.

ive not bothered to pay much attention to richmond recently.. when you say his body is stuffed, what exactly is wrong with it?

apparently thursfield wants out of tigerland. Their backline is looking even weaker now. I reckon we could shop sellar around to them to increase his value...

He's still young isn't he? With Geelong's aging list, I can see them clinging on to him.

Wants out for more senior games and I doubt we will stand in his way...you'll definitely get him for very little.

When people are contemplating the Tambling query, remember he was playing predominately as a forward and a outside midfielder. In a team like Richmond, he was starved of decent ball. At the tail end of 09 he played some pretty good games, and he missed the 2nd half of this year when Richmond improved significantly.

I personally would like for us to go after someone like Tambling, he's 24yo and we have lost a wealth of experience, so someone who has been in the system for 6-7 years wouldn't be a negative thing. Wouldn't give up a first round pick for him

Won't get a game ahead of Sloane, Otten, Douglas, Mackay, Dangerfield, S.Thompson, Vince, Van Berlo and Porplyzia.
