Pendlebury(37 next season), Sidebottom(34), Howe(34) Cox(33)... Elliott, Mihocek, Mitchell(32).

Magpies could have a serious cliff coming.

I present to you the Collingwood Magies list...I've highlighted the players 26 and under who are actually up to AFL footy as it stands in red. Their talented A-grade under 26 players in green. And yellow for guys who have played 20ish senior games but are a bit of an unknown.

Of course they will bring in players through the draft, trade and FA. But they have very limited youf and if they have a core of players retire over the coming seasons and spend 3-4 years in the wilderness then that 27-30 age bracket becomes a worry. And a potential bottom out when Tas enters the comp.

You love to see it.

1-3 seasons left max
Mason Cox
Jack Crisp
Jamie Elliott
Will Hoskin-Elliot
Jeremy Howe
Brody Mihocek
Tom Mitchell
Scott Pendlebury

Bit of movement in the seeds this week...

#1 - Sydney 140% (#1 in attack, #2 in defence - up 1)
#2 (up 1) - Western Bulldogs 120% (#4 in attack, #6 in defence - up 3)
#3 (up 2) - Carlton 114% (#2 in attack, #13 in defence - up 1)
#4 - Geelong 112% (#5 in attack, #10 in defence). Both these new additions are sort of in here by default, due to the fall in rating of the Lions and Giants.

That last goal we conceded yesterday knocks us out of the seeds by a p00fteenth. #5 overall, 112%, #3 in attack, #12 in defence (down 4). The model doesn't really account for sacked coaches very well, rightly or wrongly!

The Giants also drop back to #7, on the back of, like us, struggling to get over the top of an ordinary opponent. #7 overall, 109%, #7 in attack, #7 in defence (down 5).

Defensively, Freo retain the #1 spot. #6 overall, 111%, #8 in attack. Meanwhile Adelaide sneak in here. #3 defensively, #9 overall (101%), #12 in attack. They really seem to have flipped from their high scoring, attacking mode from last year. Melbourne are also back in at #4. #14 in attack (down 1) and #11 overall (99%). St Kilda are the other team along with the Giants to slip out of the defensive seedings - back to #5. 88%, #17 for attack (down 1) and #15 overall (down 1).

Swans to beat us by 22 points this Sunday.
Honestly thought these would be pretty settled by now, but nope, another round, new seeds!

#1 - Sydney 141% (#1 in attack, #1 in defence - up 1). Despite losing, they get a bit of a kick from keeping a highly rated attack to only 79 points.
#2 - Western Bulldogs 124% (#4 in attack, #4 in defence - up 2). Really shoring up their defence the last couple of weeks. Yes it was wet in Geelong, but that didn't stop them putting 95 on the Cats.
#3 (up 2) - Brisbane 116% (#3 in attack, #10 in defence - up 2). Our 2 point win is scaled up because of our opponent.
#4 (up 2) - Fremantle 115% (#7 in attack - up 1, #2 in defence - down 1). Coming with a rush.

Carlton and Geelong are both tipped out of the seeds. Geelong slip back to #6 (111%, #5 in attack, #11 in defence - down 1), while Carlton slide all the way to #7 (110%, #2 in attack - down 1, #13 in defence).

St Kilda reclaim their spot in the defensive seedings - back in at #3. 90% but still #15 overall and #17 in attack. They replace Adelaide who drop out as quickly as they arrived. Now #6 defensively, 101% and #8 overall (up 1), #13 for attack (down 1). The Dogs have also replaced Melbourne after the Dees' shellacking yesterday. Back to #7 for defence, 98% and #12 overall, #14 in attack.

The model has us beating Gold Coast by 14 points on Saturday, but doesn't really take into account the Suns' huge divergence between home and away form. As an aside it also has Fremantle beating West Coast by 49 points in the derby this weekend, and these two results combined would be enough to elevate Fremantle above us on percentage, on the actual ladder.

They gave up...
21 year old Ginnivan (who is a blight on the competition but actually has talent) for effectively nothing
Their first rounder this year
For a 26 year old worse version of Ginnivan
If their season continues to implode from here it is going to be a tough pill to swallow that you're one of the oldest lists in the comp with no draft hand and very limited promising youf.
Not much depth either.

Currently 20th on the 21 team VFL ladder

2-13 win/loss record having been smashed 133-50 by Carlton on Sunday.
And that win propelled Caaaaarlton into......................19th!

The battle of the Titans

Still just find it unbelievable that Collingwood could finish 13th. And not have their first pick

Get pretty annoyed by those using the bath water analogy but here’s where it fits

1 more goal in the granny to us, and it would be about perfect.

AFL censorship verges on acute paranoia. They just can't handle the truth or a player speaking out and saying what clubs, players fans and the media are almost universally thinking and saying. The MRO and Tribunal system is badly broken and the AFL desperately needs some strong reflective leadership - not censorship.

The same approach would go for 99% of all businesses - say something negative and you'll get your knuckles wrapped. Not sure why anyone would be surprised.

A second offence and he will be sent to an AFL gulag. Can share a cell with the goal umpire from the Crows and Swans game last year.

This current AFL Administration shows what sensitive princess snowflakes they really are with Green only saying what most people already think. Perhaps Laura Kane can do one of her little videos where she tells everyone what idiots we all are and prove what a beacon of AFL knowledge she possesses. As for Christian; everyone knows he’s a bias and a cheat so if anyone should be given a forms reprimand it should be the football public on the know it all administration led by Dillon, Kane and Meade the definition of the three stooges.

Absolutely. Let's not overreact to the AFL's response.

If anything it’s great viral marketing for Tom Greenes podcast that I’m sure no one previously knew existed.
Seems every second AFL player has a podcast. I wonder who listens to half of them and what is an acceptable number of listens in order for them to be successful?

Can only speak for myself and a few others but the only AFL ones we listen to is our very own Roar Deal.

I listen the The Roar Deal and the Josh Dunkley and Adam Treloar Podcast, really like it.

Famous last words of course, but I reckon Port are a sneaky chance tonight. Carlton has quite a different profile with Pittonet in ruck instead of De Koning.

Also, much less has been made of this by the media but I think the loss of Blake Acres is huge for the Blues as well.

I'm still tipping Carlton but will be happy to be wrong!

The silver lining is that if Carlton wins, even if we lose tomorrow, yes our top 2 chances are probably shot but at least we can't fall any lower than 6th by the end of this round.
