Please don’t misinterpret this post… I hate Richmond!
But I really sympathise with O’Rourke here. Compare these campaigners to guys like, Black, Power, and of course Brownie. Who hung in there as our ship was going down. Mentoring and protecting our young players and getting tagged, and smashed every week.
What’s going to happen to Richmond’s no 1 draft pick? He’ll be alone out there, a boy against men.
A person’s character is revealed in adversity. That’s why it’s a hard “no” from me to any of those Richmond rats deserting their sinking ship.

They are crying out at them leaving, but Im pretty sure they cant push some of them out the door fast enough to bring in those sweet draft picks
Plus they screwed themselves over trying to bring in Taranto and Hopper on big money and picks to continue their run and then it fell apart. They did it to themselves so no point crying poor now

Has anyone ever watched Blue Mountain State? Where the main character kept trying to position himself as the second string quarterback as he got to live the highlife without any of the responsibility. Preuss is basically having the best life running around as a backup ruck, all the benefits of a professional career but no real attempt to be the number 1 guy

The problem for Pruess is that in the time he has spent being the backup ruck or getting injured literally running onto the field in the vfl, the next generation of backup rucks have now come through to cut his grass.

He hasn't been fit to play when the Giants have needed him in years. It's crazy if he gets another gig, there's no point having a backup ruck that's injured more than your main ruck.

He’s $10m over 6 years
Cats will put a proposal to him that gives him the financially secure future without them having to stump up too much direct cash themselves.
Melbourne want him out of there so they'll agree to anything.
I'm a bit surprised that the Cats are coming for him but maybe they're just doing DD.

Tend to agree. Dees will need at least a first rounder and for the Cats to take a heap of that contract to do it surely.

St Kilda worried about academies while their direct competition in the Melbourne/Vic market is laughing at them and replacing half their team with best 22 players every season. Maybe focus on your direct competitors rorting the cap and making the market in Melbourne uncompetitive for teams like you mighty Sainters.

They were becoming one under Grant Thomas. Played an exciting brand that was proving successful and won them finals.
Then they sacked him...
A lot of people really disliked Thomas and whilst I get he rubbed people the wrong way, I didn’t mind him and his forthrightness approach and like you said, they the sack him. He was at least taking them somewhere and refused for the club to be a doormat.They were becoming one under Grant Thomas. Played an exciting brand that was proving successful and won them finals.
