I don’t mind this as the logoI was thinking primarily of the one down the bottom in the middle. To be honest I liked the one we had before it better too.

Will be pretty funny if no one bids on Essendon's NGA kid, Kako before pick 9 given they traded pick 9 away (in other picks of course) in the belief they didn't want to lose that pick 9 matching a bid.
Its likely it'll turn out that they could have used pick 9 and matched a bid on Kako in the teens and got two highly rated kids.
Only Essendon.
Fair enough if that's the case, but OTOH seems odd that a club would have deliberately made them pay if they didn't trade it out in much the same way that a club in the 1-4 area may not make us pay for Levi earlier than pick 5........if thats how it eventuates. As Twomey said multiple times, if Essendon had held on to their pick 9, a team would have almost certainly bid before their pick.
Trading out early meant they most likely got a better deal than what they would have been able to get if they waited to see if another team bid.
There’s also a bit of speculation that they have a deal lined up to trade out their two current second round picks for two future second round picks, before the Kako bid, and then they’ll trade back in to the second round after matching the bid.
But they won't - they already shown their hand by trading out of the first round. Essendon have not option to get first round player other than Kako.Very risky for another team to bid before pick 9. Is Kako rated in the top 10? If not the Bombers could pass and leave the bidding team stuck with a player they probably don't want.

I'd be disappointed if we didn't have a number of similar strategies planned. As soon as there's no bid for WAshcroft at pick 1 or 2, we no longer need pick 27 to pay for him. So trade it out for some later picks or future picks, then after the bid is made, reassess what is still needed for Marshall and keep trading. There’s also a bit of speculation that they have a deal lined up to trade out their two current second round picks for two future second round picks, before the Kako bid, and then they’ll trade back in to the second round after matching the bid.
We didn’t hold a high pick, so we weren’t a chance of “double dipping”.Fair enough if that's the case, but OTOH seems odd that a club would have deliberately made them pay if they didn't trade it out in much the same way that a club in the 1-4 area may not make us pay for Levi earlier than pick 5........if thats how it eventuates.
I guess we'll all soon see about Levi and will never know as to what would happen if Essendon had pick 9, but i do prefer the narrative that they could have kept pcik 9 and got Kako.
Saints were the risk of bidding on Kako.Very risky for another team to bid before pick 9. Is Kako rated in the top 10? If not the Bombers could pass and leave the bidding team stuck with a player they probably don't want. And then potentially draft a highly rated slider with pick 9.
Yep, Saints being the small minded the club they are are going to get any evil club that dare has access to Academy, NGA or Father Sons that they've never been the beneficiary of (they have) and make them pay goddammit.Saints were the risk of bidding on Kako.
They probably would have bid on Lombard, then Kako.
Is that any different?St Kilda's new logo, still unfathomable that they only have one Premiership in over 150 years of existence in the VFA, VFL and AFL.
