My first thought is always this album, I was 16 at the time and it was one of the first albums I purchased.... oh the good old days. :shoutyoldman:

The 70's were a wild decade where almost anything went. Todays kids would be outraged at some of the stuff that went on, like our grand parents probably were.

When I think back I think I'm just lucky to still be alive.

Some of the things that were the norm for a large swathe of young people you'd end up in jail for now.

In hindsight it was shameful but didn't seem to be a problem to anyone at the time.

I’m being gas lit on the mainboard into believing that the saints great defensive numbers aren’t a result of them having their entire team behind the ball but rather because their back 6 are all guns + that their A graders will still be A graders when the saints next compete for a flag even though they’ll probably be mid 30s by then.

lol ask them why their first 3 picks in the draft were all defenders.

Saints supporters are a funny lot.

The ones who aren't victims enough to post on SM seem to have a glum acceptance that they're never destined to be any good. And history tells you why.

The ones who feel the need to talk publicly about their prospects are just delusional.

Longmire was a fantastic coach and a true statesman of the gane.

Geez footy has made giant strides in credibility north of the Barassi Line under people like Lethal, Roos, Longmire and Fages. Coaching a northern club isn’t just a coaching role, it’s a stewardship where the ongoing viability of the code is in your hands.

We owe them a lot.

Andrew Ireland and Greg Swann not far behind them.

EDIT: Just tried again and it has worked.
There was an issue with the feature that automatically adds player cards when you name players earlier. It's now been turned off.

So Horse is replaced by Big Cox. No chance I’ll ever coach the Swans.
Not much of a consolation Mr.R but you’ll always have a big lens

Did you point out the incredibly boring uncontested marking they played at times this year including against us at Marvel to try avoid scores against?

Never have I seen such empty stats. They actually had more marks than us whilst losing by 85 points.

I’ve wasted my entire afternoon on bigfooty discussing the saints list. Sad thing is - in addition to that - I’ve been 75% serious, only 25% trolling.

Current point of discussion is that according to one of the saints mods, st Kilda will be better than Carlton next season because they beat their injury ravaged vfl side by a point in the final round. Im considering applying to UQ for a research grant to study the correlation between supporting the saints and being absolutely deluded.

I love dismissing Carlton's list but not even I would have the Saints as a better propsect for next season. Saints will continue to be well coached in what I think is ultimately a losing-style of football, and will miss out on the best draft prospects because they win too many games.

Wilkie will continue to get overrated because the whole team is set up like Jose Mourinho's 2004 Porto side.

I wish I could remember ....................

So, is too soon to be talking about Dean Cox's beard? As a fellow grower of a beard to hide a squishy jawline, I feel it could use some work.

Coxy is a human being by committee

What do you guys think about News Corp selling Foxtel to DAZN? Keep in mind News Corp own around 70% of the Brisbane Broncos and I've heard for many years that the Broncos have received favourable treatment/coverage due to this. Now the main broadcaster of the AFL/NRL won't have the same kind of motivation to provide favourable treatment to the Broncos and perhaps the Lions are going to benefit the most from it.

Thoughts?

The Broncos part won't change - they're the biggest club. They're going to get the news, clicks, ad impressions, etc. It's like saying "will this now mean Collingwood won't get the most coverage in Melbourne?"

No doubt the Broncs will still be the most popular team in Brisbane/Queensland, but some of the advantages they once had may go away with this sale. Does anyone remember a few years ago when it seemed like the Broncos would play every single Friday night? Being looked after from a scheduling persepective certainly helps in terms of growing your fanbase, coverage etc.
