I wonder what Dew is thinking? He was so highly rated and apparently turned down a few senior coaching opportunities but took this one. You generally only get one shot at senior coaching unless you're extremely successful. What made him think that was the job to take? Enormous task. Absolutely enormous.

It's weird. At the start of the year, and in spite of a list full of skinny flankers, Dew had them playing this really intense, hard-nosed competitive game. But now, whether it's the travel load, the losses, the culture, whatever... they now just look diffident.

One weekend of close matches doesn’t negate the need for some rule changes IMO.

Rule changes, or rule attention?
Surely they just need to sort the shit out with interpretations and application. It should certainly be tried, before introducing something new.
Every year they tweak, if not the rules, then with the interpretation, then predictably one of 2 things happen; By round 4, they either soften their focus or they crowds and players hate it so much they dump it all together.
And that's without me going on a rant about the fundamental rules that are not applied properly.

Suns current shitfest is down to some of the senior players, if what Hammo reported was close to the mark. Senior players taking younger blokes to task for their language about Lynch leaving. That was a time to unite, not stick up for your mate, who is pissing off. Whether the young blokes were being fair or not, they are the ones who (for now) are sticking it out, and standing up for their club. For the likes of Swallow to take them to task would only further ruffle the loyalty feathers. Their captain is bailing on them (fairly or not) and then senior players have a crack for voicing disgust/disappointment. They really needed just say, "well we're all here, we don't need him".
They are playing today like a dis-unified rabble. They look like half don't care at all while the other half is pissed that they have to all share the field. Culture up the shit again. After they weeded out a lot of the party boys, they now don't look at all like they like each other.
